Travelling to Wasaga Beach, Ontario
Wasaga Beach is the world’s longest freshwater beach and offers cottage rentals among the sand dunes and pine-oak forests of Georgian Bay’s southern shores.
The beach, which is a Provincial Park, and surrounding resort town are favourite destinations of sunbathers, swimmers, and water sport enthusiasts, who come to waterski, wakeboard, windsurf, and kitesurf. Anglers are also well served with catches of pickerel, rainbow trout, and small mouth bass.
On land, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, golfing, horseback riding, and ATVing are popular in the summer, while cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling are favourites come winter. Nearby Blue Mountain offers Ontario’s best downhill skiing and snowboarding as well as a range of après-ski activities for adults and kids.
Less than two hours’ drive from Toronto, Wasaga Beach is a very popular Ontario cottage rental destination.
