While the drive in to Les Stroud's property was beautiful, the biggest thill was arriving at this off-the-grid mecca. My first visit there was strictly for creative purposes a€“ I needed fresh air and an escape from noise a€“ mission accomplished! My family craved more of an adventure and had a fantastic time exploring, canoeing and playing paintball. Gathering around the campfire at night created memories we'll all cherish, especially under such an intense star-lit sky.

My family and I have and will continue to return to Les' gem in Novar a€“ there is a wonderful, positive energy surrounding the property and within the gorgeous, comfortable a-frame cottages. This is certainly one of Ontario's best kept secrets a€“ the only down-side to it is having to leave.
