About Tofino, British Columbia

Tofino is located in the regional district of Alberni-Clayoquot, on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

There's so much to do! You can surf, canoe, kayak, go camping, star-gaze, fish, whale watch, and so much more. When in Tofino, be sure to take the trip to Maquinna Marine Provincial Park and enjoy the natural hot springs. The park is located in Clayoquot Sound, which is 28 miles from Tofino. You can get there by boat or float plane. 

There are a number of beautiful resorts in Tofino for you to choose from, as well as local inns and lovely bed and breakfasts.

Q. Whom is the city of Tofino named after? 

A.  Spanish admiral Vicente Tofino. Galiano and Valdes named it after him, in part because Tofino taught Galiano cartography (map making).
