Penticton is located in the Regional District of Okanagan-Simikameen, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. There are two lakes on either side of the city - Lakes Okanagan and Skaha. The closest English translation of "Penticton" is "a place to stay forever." 

When in Penticton 

There are over 80 wineries in Penticton - and they're close enough together that you can check them all out in an hour. In the summer, enjoy the city's two lakes, hike or bike on the Kettle Valley Railway Trail, and, of course, don't forget your golf clubs! 

In winter, enjoy the alpine skiing at Penticton's Apex Mountain Resort ski area.

Attention music lovers! Penticton holds two annual music festivals: the Pentastic Hot Jazz Festival and the Elvis Festival. The Elvis Festival even made it into British Columbia Magazine (2006).
