Southern Alberta

About Southern Alberta

Southern Alberta is fast becoming a hotspot for Hollywood filmmakers and tourists. Its major cities include Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, Brooks and Medicine Hat. Its many rivers include the Oldman, Bow, Red Deer and South Saskatchewan Rivers, among others.

Why Come to Southern Alberta?

Come to Southern Alberta for the parks! Come, for instance, for the beautiful scenery at Waterton Lakes National Park, the winter sports at Cypress Hill Interprovincial Park, the highest concentration on the North American plains of native rock at Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, the badlands and bones at Dinosaur Provincial Park, and, of course, for the extraordinary showcase of Aboriginal culture at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump!

When in Lethbridge, moreover, be sure to visit the stunning Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. The famous landscape artist Dr. Tadashi Kubo designed the gardens in the 1960s as a monument to the Japanese Canadians of British Columbia who were affected by government-enforced relocation in 1942.
