The city of Stratford is located in southwestern Ontario, within Pert County, on the Avon River. In addition to its well-known celebration of theatre and the arts, Stratford is a city full of beautiful sights, unique shops, trendy bars and restaurants, art shows and galleries and great character! 

Come for the Theatre! 

People from all over the world come to Stratford year after year for its famous Shakespearean Stratford Festival, which has been around since 1953. Such celebrated actors as Alec Guinness, Christopher Plummer, Peter Ustinov, and even William Shatner have performed on the Stratford stages. During the festival, 38 plays are performed live among Stratford's four theaters - the Studio Theatre, Avon Theatre, Tom Patterson Theatre and the Festival Theatre. 

Come for the Music! 

Each Wednesday evening in the summer, the Stratford Concert Band performs live at Stratford's Upper Queen Park. The band has been around since the early 1900s! In the winter, check out the Stratford Music Festival. 

Sights to See 

When in Stratford, be sure to visit the City Hall, the Statue of Shakespeare, Ontario Street and, of course, the swans in the Avon River.
