About Orillia, Ontario
The city of Orillia is located in Simcoe County, on Lake Couchiching. It's approximately 135 km from Toronto. Orillia became an official part of Canada in 1867 as a village, then as a town in 1875 and, finally, as the city it is today in 1969.
Orillia is known as the "sunshine city" of Canada. Come and enjoy the beautiful weather at the city's popular waterfront park. Relax at one of the two beaches, or enjoy some competitive fishing and partake in the "perch fry" at the Orillia Perch Festival, which takes place every Spring.
