LAND O' LAKES, ONTARIO 

One of the most beautiful regions in the Canadian province of Ontario, Land O' Lakes is, indeed, the region of many lakes. It is located just outside of Kingston - about a 3-hour drive east of Toronto along Highway 401, and a 1.5-hour drive west of Ottawa via Highway 7. U.S. visitors can easily get to Land O' Lakes by taking l-81 to the Thousand Islands Bridge border crossing and driving an hour from there.

Visitors from all over North America travel to Land O' Lakes for its clean waters, wonderful fishing, camping, hiking, golf, canoeing, kayaking, its beautiful provincial parks - Bon Echo, Frontenac, Sharbot Lake and Silver Lake - public boat launches, and much more! 

The Mississippi River flows through the Land O' Lakes, offering lots of opportunities for canoeing and kayaking. Of course, the many lakes in the area offer quieter, but no less enjoyable, opportunities for exciting water adventures. 

The Trans-Canada Trail, moreover, which used to be a major railroad between Toronto and Ottawa, offers wonderful opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. 

When in Land O' Lakes, enjoy the many opportunities for outdoor fun. On rainy days, however, check out the museums and other historical attractions, as well as the antique stores, gift shops, bookstores, restaurants, taverns, and more.
