About Windermere, British Columbia 

The community of Windermere is situated on Lake Windermere, in the Regional District of East Kootenay, British Columbia. 

Albertans, in particular, tend to travel the three hours from Calgary to Windermere to vacation at Windermere Lake. 

When in Windermere, you not only get to experience the beautiful lake and all it has to offer, but also the spectacular surrounding mountains - specifically, the Purcell, Columbia and Monahee Mountains. 

In the summer, enjoy great golfing (on both the flat and mountainous terrains), cottage life, camping, hiking, biking, white-water rafting, mountain climbing, hang-gliding and boardsailing, and in winter, come for the fabulous cross-country and downhill skiing at the Panorama Resort or Fairmont Ski Hills. 

Finally, Windermere is home to Canada's largest and most popular hot-spring pool complex. The world-renowned Fairmont Hot Springs Resort contains approximately 1,000 square metres of pools to which visitors flock year round for the healing 35-45°C waters.
