Port Hope, Ontario 

Located on the north shore of Lake Ontario, just east of Toronto and west of Kingston, Port Hope is truly a cottager's delight. 

Among the many tourist and cottager attractions, be sure to visit the Ganaraska Forest Centre and Trail, the Port Hope Yacht Club, the Port Hope and District Agricultural Fall Fair, and the Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny. 

In the summer Ganaraska Forest is ideal for hiking, mountain biking,  horseback riding, fishing (for salmon and trout), and much more!

With over 270 buildings deemed historically significant by the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario, Port Hope is a museum in itself!

Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny

Come to Port Hope in April and check out the extraordinary Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny event. "Ganny" is short for Ganaraska River. The event commemorates the flood of 1980 that wrecked Port Hope's downtown area. Participants race 10km down the Ganaraska River (which flows through the town) in a canoe, kayak or homemade craft. Don't miss it!
