About Hudson Valley , New York

The Hudson Valley is, literally, the valley of the Hudson river and its neighbouring New York State regions - basically from the northern part of Westchester County (in the "lower" region) to Orange and Columbia (in "Mid-Hudson") to Troy and New York's capital city of Albany (in "Upper Hudson"). It's considered the suburbs of New York City, and the "exurbs" as you go North into the rural area of the Valley.

An official Heritage region, Hudson Valley is a rich with history. In fact, it has the greatest concentration of historical attractions in America. So, take walk where George Washington walked, learn about American art, architecture and folklore, and visit the fabulous mansions, museums, performing arts centers, and the beautiful gardens. 

There's lots to do throughout Hudson Valley all year round. In the Lower Valley, enjoy the charming villages, heritage sites, art galleries, museums and natural beauty, stories of the American Revolution, a river cruise, fabulous Main Street shopping, and a memorable ride along the path of the Headless Horseman. 

In Mid-Hudson check out historical mansions, estates and gardens, hike the Shawangunk and Catskill Mountains, and enjoy the various museums, wineries and farms. 

In Upper Hudson, visit Troy - where you can learn about the dawn of the Industrial Revolution - as well as New York's capital city of Albany and, of course, Hudson for its antique shops.
