Fredericton And York County, New Brunswick

About York County and Fredericton, New Brunswick

York County is located in west-central New Brunswick. The capital city of New Brunswick, Fredericton, is located in York County, as are the Saint John and Southwest Miramichi Rivers.

The city of Frederiction is the most populous city in New Brunswick. It became an official part of Canada as early as 1785 and thus abounds with cultural and historical relics.

Fredericton is a lovely university city that is characterized, among other things, by its stunning architecture. The numerous historic churches, for example, the Victorian homes, and the more modern corporate buildings contribute to the city's architectural splendour. Art connoisseurs, moreover, must take a trip to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, which rests on the St. John River, to view the gallery's original Salvador Dali collection, and much more.

Winter in Fredericton is wonderful. Skate outdoors at an historic site, go on an outdoor adventure, and enjoy the stunning river valley views.

In summer, canoe or kayak along the magnificent St. John River, bike along the 85km  of riverfront trails, golf on a Kingswood championship course, or spend a day at the beach at Killarney Lake or Mactaquac Provincial Park.

Year round, take advantage of Fredericton's great entertainment, the live bands at Tannery Entertainment District, the fun family activities at Science East (New Brunswick's only Science Centre), the malls and boutiques, the natural and tourist attractions, great theatre, concerts, fine cuisine, excellent accommodations and so much more!
