Travelling to Rainbow Country, Ontario
Stretching north from Parry Sound along the northern shores of Georgian Bay, Rainbow Country is a gateway to Ontario’s true North with cottage rentals nestled among windswept pines.
The region encompasses Georgian Bay, Killarney Provincial Park and French River Provincial Park, making it a favourite destination of anglers. It is also home to Manitoulin Island, the largest lake island in the world. The parkland trails are hotspots for hiking, mountain biking, and ATVing in the summer and snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing come winter.
Sudbury, Rainbow Country’s urban hub, is within easy driving distance from most cottage rentals and with plenty of restaurants, cafés, pubs, there is no shortage of places to retire to after a day on the water or trails. With one of the largest French-speaking populations outside of Québec, Sudbury is a hub of Franco-Ontarian heritage. Visitors can also experience First Nation culture by experiencing one of Rainbow Country’s many Pow Wows, which are held year-round.
Just a four hours’ drive northwest of Toronto, Rainbow Country offers natural, outdoor and cultural attractions and is a popular place to rent a cottage in Ontario.
