The Blue Door Cottage is a two bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cottage found on the Island of Prince Edward County in Ontario Canada.

This clean, sunny cottage has been owned since new.

It is situated in a quaint quiet country garden setting. Although across the road from lakefront, sunsets are spectacular!(No direct lake access from this property)

The large back deck and stone veranda are great spaces for spending time with family or friends while the front stone veranda, reached via paths through the large stone garden, is ideal for watching the incredible Southbay sunsets with a glass of local sparkling.

As the sun sets, guests can light a fire in the outdoor fire pit which is found within a large stone circle built and walled with stone from local farmers' fields.

This little piece of county heaven is meant for healthy relaxing time away from your everyday life. Each room possesses its own colorful character complimenting the already light, sunny feeling that this cottage exudes. Each room has a ceiling fan which, along with the almost constant Southbay breeze, keeps this cottage at a lovely summer temperature.

Parking:
Large gravel drive can easily accommodate up to 4 cars.

Nearby And Things To Do

Little Bluffs Conservation Area, only minutes from The Blue Door Cottage, is one of the best and most secluded swimming areas in The County. Little Bluffs beach is a perfect location for a family swim followed by a relaxing picnic lunch or dinner.

For dessert, you can drive down the road to Black River Cheese Factory to sample their cheese and indulge in their great selection of ice-cream.

If you're here during the tomato harvesting season, you can take your family and friends to the Tomato tasting event at Vickis Veggies where she offers over 100 different tomato varieties to taste. Vicki is one of The County's superstars who has been running her organic vegetable and fruit farm for several years now with accolades from all over the country.

If wine is your thing, The County is the place to be. With over 30 wineries on this little island, the wine traveller is spoiled for choice.

Additional Bedroom Information

Each of the two bedrooms has new crisp linens on queen sized beds (one of which is organic). The master bedroom has a Mediterranean feel which seems to encourage you to linger a little longer while the guest bedroom is bright and sunny.

Long Weekends = $525
May 1 - June 30 = $750/Week
May 1 - June 30 = $300Weekend
July 1 - Aug 31 = $850/Week

Sept 1 - Oct 31 = $750/Week
Sept 1 - Oct 31 = $300/Weekend
Nov 1 - April 30 = $700/Week
Nov 1 - April 30 = N/A weekends

Each rental period requires a $500 refundable rental deposit.​
Check-in 4pm. Check-out 10am.

50% deposit upon booking;
100% within 30 days of rental start date.
Note: Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice.

We limit the maximum number of guests to 4 people, no exceptions (including overnight visitors).
Cottage is to be left clean or renter will incur final cleaning charge of $150
Linens and towels are supplied. Septic safe cleaners / cleaning agents supplied.

If guests plan to use the large outdoor fire pit, we do supply wood for approx 2 nights of enjoyment. Extra wood can be purchased from us, or from the many neighbors who sell it on the road sides.
The property is stand alone, and has privacy from the distant neighboring property.

Cancellation policy:
We require 15 days advance notice to make a cancellation. In the event a cancellation is made within 14 days prior to check in date, deposit (50% total invoice) will be sacrificed.
Cancellation within 7 days of check in date, and for no-shows, 100% of the total invoice will be sacrificed. No refunds are given for early check outs, for any reason.

No smoking:
The Blue Door Cottage is a non-smoking property.

No pets:
Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets at the Blue Door Cottage. This applies inside the cottage and on the grounds, either by you or anyone visiting you on the property. Many of our return guests require an allergen free environment.

No fireworks :
Anywhere on the property, no exceptions.
