Cottage Resort is centrally located for all your recreational interests. Situated about 3 kilometres from Ganges Harbour at the Southeast side of St Mary's Lake, our guests have easy access to a wide variety of activities, such as:

Kayaking
Ocean kayaking around Salt Spring Island's beautiful shores is very popular. Take a guided tour of our scenic waters and beaches. There are a number of kayaking tour guides on Salt Spring Island. We recommend Island Escapades, which offers kayak tours, multi-day expeditions, winter escapades and more. Of course Lake kayaking can be very enjoyable as well so look no further than St Mary Lake, right our front door.

Golf
Salt Spring Island is home to two golf courses, Salt Spring Island Golf and Country Club (website) and Blackburn Meadows Golf Club. (website) Salt Spring Island Golf and Country Club a par 72, 6000 yard course that is a challenge for all levels of golfers and is about 1 kilometre from Cottage Resort. Black Burn Meadows is a par 3 style organic golf course. Both courses have a driving range. Ask us about our special Golf & Stay packages.

Cycling
Salt Spring Island's renowned beauty is best seen from the seat of a bicycle. A popular activity throughout the summer, cycling on Salt Spring is considered an intermediate level. Mount Maxwell and other locations provide excellent mountain biking. For those who prefer the road, cycle the assortment of paved and unpaved scenic rural roads with little traffic and challenging terrain. We recommend the Studio Tour by bicycle. Cottage Resort can be an excellent home base for extensive cycle tours on Salt Spring and around the Cowichan Valley and Sannich Peninsula on Vancouver Island. Consider a cycling winery tour!

House Rules

Pets
Pets on approval during our pet season. Sorry no pets during our Radiant Season. If we have accepted your pet for a visit it is with the following understanding: Pets must be on a lead at all times while on our resort property. Pets are allowed in the cottage area and in the forested area of the resort. Pets are not allowed in the park area by the lake or in the lake at any time. Pets may not be left in the cottage unattended. Any damage done to the cottage or the property by the pet will be for the guests account.

There is an additional $20 per night charge for pets.

Smoking
For your comfort Cottage Resort cottages are non-smoking. We appreciate that if you must smoke that you do so away from the cottage areas.

Day Visitors
Cottage Resort property is for the use of our registered guests and day visitors may be welcomed with prior approval. All day visitors to our property must check in at the office and may be required to sign a registration card indicating knowledge of the rules of the property. During our peak season there may be a charge for day visitors who plan to visit registered guests and use the facilities of the resort. Parking is provided for guests and any day visitors will be directed by management as to where appropriate parking is during the time of the visit.

Extras
For approved extra guests we have the following additional charges:
Additional $10.00 per person 12 and under
Additional $20.00 per person 13 and over
Additional $5.00 per night for crib and playpen rental

Taxes
All our rates are quoted in Canadian dollars per night without tax except in the Radiant Season for our weekly and two-weekly packages. There will be a 12% HST added to all room charges.

Cancellation Policy

Deposit required on booking by acceptable and approved credit card.

Balance due on arrival

We have a 30-day cancellation policy for 8 months of the year. Please let us know if you are unable to make your reservations at least 30 days prior to your booked dates for the months of January through May and for October through December. We have a 60-day cancellation policy for the months of June through September. Again, please let us know at least 60 days prior to the commencement of your booking dates. Otherwise payment for the full period is considered due. Any agreed refund will be less any related bank and adminstration costs.

If you must cancel your reservation within the 30 or 60 period then we will do our best to rebook the space partially or entirely and refund what we have been able to rebook.

Similarly if you must change dates of your visit please let us know as early as possible which will allow us to make the appropriate adjustments.

No refunds on shortened stays.
