Day Trips - One of the favorite activities of our guests is the day trips. Whether it’s a 4-mile ATV ride to a secluded bass fishing lake, or an 11-mile trek over the Canadian Shield to catch walleye until your arms are sore; we have a trip for all ages. Trips are limited to one group per day and fill up fast, contact us to schedule yours today!
Hiking - With hundreds of square miles of Canadian Shield and miles of logging trails, hiking is one of those sometimes forgotten adventures to truly get you into the heart of the wilderness. The magnificent views from the high rock will take your breath away and make you want to discover what’s around the next corner. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see why we love spending our summers here as much as we do!
Blueberry Picking - At the end of July and early August the Canadian bush yields some of the finest blueberry picking in the world. Some of our guests pick enough to enjoy in their morning pancakes, while others pick pails full to bring home. Either way, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to taste a true Northwood’s treat.
After a day of enjoying everything the Canadian bush has to offer, sit back and enjoy the sounds of the loons around a crackling campfire with a great bunch of friends and family.

Fishing Trips
Fishing on Cygnet Lake can be defined with one word: awesome, unbelievable, fantastic-you choose. With the combination of shallow weedy bays, rock reefs, and many feeder streams, Cygnet Lake produces a large number of fish every year. Whether you are looking for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, or even Perch, this is the destination for you.
Cygnet Lake is approximately 3500 acres with 12 islands. The Cygnet River flows into the lake at the south end, and flows out at the north end only a few hundred yards from camp. There are several spots to pull over in the afternoon and prepare a wonderful Canadian Shore Lunch. For those that are interested, a local guide is available for a daily fee.
Hunting Trips
We have a very large population of black bears within our bear management unit. The bait stations are checked daily and are set up to provide a clean, quartering away shot. You will arrive at your stand either by four-wheeler or by boat. Stands are selected daily, depending upon sign in the area and wind direction.
Our fall bear hunts include everything under our Housekeeping Cabin Packages, plus full guide service, active baited sites, your bear license, and skinning and quartering. The price is $1950 U.S. per person. There is a $500 deposit due per person, which is non-refundable.
