Uncle Bob’s is a fully self-contained, modern, 800 SF, winterized, 1 bedroom garage apartment, with a private entrance, that is comfortable year around for a couple or small family - sleeps up to 5.
It is situated on 16 acres, 200 feet from a paved road and 500 feet from the warm waters of Pictou Harbour on the Northumberland Strait. The safe, sandy beach is easily reached from a private deck and stairs. Two sit-on kayaks are available with life jackets. Apartment fully winterized with electric in-floor, baseboard and a propane fireplace if it turns damp or chilly.

All appliances, including washer and dryer and dishwasher come with apartment, as well as the fully equipped kitchen plus all linens and towels. Wi-fi, TV, DVD player are included. The modern three-piece bath includes tub with shower.

There is a deck off the great room and a patio below for just sitting and admiring the view or using the barbecue. The Owners live in a detached house on the property 160 feet away and are readily available to answer any questions.

Area Information

Nova Scotia is rich in history, scenery, great food and festivals. Pictou, as the birthplace of New Scotland, is part of this tradition and is a 5 minute drive away and features The Hector Interpretive Centre with a full scale replica of the ship that brought the first Scottish settlers to Pictou County in 1773.

Pictou is ideally located for side trips to PEI, Cape Breton (and the Cabot Trail) and Halifax. The ferry to PEI is a few minutes’ drive, Halifax and Cape Breton about 2 hours.

Come for a week end, a week, or a month. We know you will enjoy the property, we do and have done so for 50+ years.

Payment of 50% of the rental amount will confirm reservations. Balance due at check out . Please make cheques payable to Rod Desborough.

Check in is 4:00pm or after and check out is 10:00am, unless other arrangements have been made.

No pets are allowed. Smoking is not allowed except outdoors.

Agreements: I hereby acknowledge occupancy of a rental home for the length of time listed. I accept responsibility for any theft, damage, and other
costly actions including smoking resulting from my occupancy, whether accidental, willful or negligent (including lost keys, or and other property). I understand that the amount of my responsibility is not limited to the amount of the security deposit. Further, I agree that no more than 5 people will reside in the home and no animals of any kind are allowed.

Minimum age of renter is 21.

Owner shall not be liable for any damage or injury to Tenant, family members or guests, loss or theft of personal property and shall indemnify and save Owner harmless from any and all claims including those caused by damage from water, rain, fire, frost, storms, or by breakage, stoppage or leakage of water, gas, heating and sewer pipes or plumbing upon, about or adjacent to the Premises. Use of the kayaks is at the risk of the renter and the Owner is not liable for any injury, loss or damages from such use.

High speed internet is free for the use of the renter but it is not to be used for illegal purposes and use is tracked and logged to monitor proper usage.

This rental home is privately owned.

Cancellation Policy
