Welcome to pet friendly Pine Grove Resort Cottages on the shores of the Pickerel River. When you arrive, you will enter 200+ acres of forested, peaceful, private land, in which to relax, unwind and enjoy your vacation. We are 10 minutes west of the community of Port Loring, which can take care of your supply needs and more.

Pine Grove Resort Cottages is a small, friendly, family owned housekeeping resort catering to fishermen and their families for over 30 years. Superb boating on 40 miles of the Pickerel River is awaiting the avid fisherperson and explorer alike. Fish the river, or enjoy a fishing experience on one of our outpost lakes. Accommodations include well-equipped and well-spaced cottages, as well as a 1 1/2 story farmhouse, and a superb secluded luxury chalet. Boats and motors are available to rent and we have a boat launch on site. Well-behaved pets are always welcome and both pets and owners will enjoy "Dog Patch" our just-for-fun agility course.

At Pine Grove Resort Cottages there are no schedules and no one is organizing you. Spend your time outside on the water, on the beach or the trails, or inside by the fire – it's all up to you. Rest, relaxation, fun, adventure and new friends will be the legacy of your vacation at Pine Grove Resort Cottages.

Fishing

We cater to both the leisurely vacation fisherman, and to the avid angler who prefers an organized fishing trip. The Pickerel River provides 40 miles of boating for the avid fisherperson and explorer alike. Fish the Pickerel River itself, or for the more adventuresome, enjoy a fishing experience on one of our outpost lakes. Predominant species are walleye (pickerel), northern pike, bass, and pan fish, including crappie. Ice, bait, a screened fish cleaning hut and freezer service are available.
Over 20 years ago, local cottagers and tourist operators started the first pond reared walleye (pickerel) hatchery in the province of Ontario. This annual volunteer project has released hundreds of thousands of walleye fingerlings into the river, in addition to making major improvements to area spawning beds, and enhancing both the fishery and the reputation of the community.

There is never a day when you cannot get out on the river to fish or boat as it has many sheltered bays, and it is not subject to the rough water of large lakes, and in addition, fluctuating water levels are not a problem on the Pickerel River system. The river is controlled by dams, which maintain the water levels throughout the fishing season.

Boating
We have 14’ and 16’ fiberglass and aluminum boats with 10 h.p. motors and also some deluxe aluminum boat and motor packages which include a 15 h.p. and 20 h.p. 4-stroke, electric start motors, live well, lights, fish finder, padded seats with back rests, storage, and vinyl floor.

With our boat rentals, we supply the new safety equipment required by recent changes by the Canadian Coast Guard. Life jackets (standard size) are provided with boat rentals; however, if you have your own personal life vest or require a special size for youth or xx size, we encourage you to bring them with you.

Gas and oil are available and a boat launch is located on the property as well as docking for those who wish to bring their own boat.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Recreational pursuits our guests engage in are fishing, boating, swimming and canoeing, along with walking the groomed hiking trails throughout our 200 acres. Walking the trails affords you an opportunity to be with your private thoughts, to get some exercise and anticipate the possibility of viewing birds and wildlife and various species of wild plants. They also provide your dog with exercise and all the new smells they could wish for.

Cliff jumping is an activity for those who enjoy a bit of excitement. Located about three miles down the river, there are various heights to jump off, thus allowing everyone to have fun.

Enjoy a fun competition by engaging friends in a game of shuffleboard, horseshoes, volleyball and badminton.

We provide a paddle boat and kayak for your use as well as two mountain bikes. If you wish to bicycle, please bring your own helmet; a must if you are under 18 years old.

In July and August we invite you to enjoy our weekly wiener roast on the beach. This has been a tradition at Pine Grove for over 30 years.

Several golf courses are within an hour’s drive.

Other vacation experiences you may take pleasure from are reading, sleeping, watching the sunset, listening to the quiet, playing board games, experiencing the wonder of the stars in the black night sky , and making new friends.

COTTAGE #2 (6 Persons) Large Screened porch & wood heat. Four pce. bathroom, coffee maker, BBQ, Microwave, etc. Sleeping arrangements include two bedrooms with double beds and one with bunk beds.
COTTAGE #4 (6 Persons) Large Screened porch and wood heat. Four pce. bathroom, coffee maker, BBQ, Microwave, etc. Sleeping arrangements include two bedrooms with twin beds and one with double bed.

PLAN A
Weekly: 7 nights/6 days accommodations in fully equipped housekeeping cottage, including all bed linens and towels (one set/week), boat, motor and boat docking. Gas extra.
Daily: Minimum two-night stay.

PLAN B
Weekly: 7 nights/6 days accommodations in completely equipped housekeeping cottage.
Daily: Minimum two-night stay.
DEPOSIT
$200.00 per week; $300.00 for Chalet by credit card.

PREPAYMENT DISCOUNT
Prepay your account in full, prior to arrival, and receive a 1% discount for each month of prepayment up to 10% off of the summer rate.

SEASONAL DISCOUNT
Prior to June 22 and after September 3 deduct 10%. Cannot be combined with other offers.

Check in After 3:00 p.m.
Check Out Time Before 9:00 a.m. (Minimum 2 nights stay & Chalet Minimum 3 night stay).

NOTE We reserve the right to limit the number of persons staying in any cottage and the right to accept or refuse any reservation.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION
If cancellation notice is received within 60 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded, less $50.00 cancellation fee. Following this, deposits will not be refunded. A "no show", or cancellation within 7 days of arrival date, is liable for 100% of the total value of the reservation. Authorization to use your credit card for your deposit indicates your compliance with our booking terms and conditions. Verbal authorization for the use of your Credit Card will confirm your reservation.
