Recreational opportunities abound at Sandy Beach Lodge and Resort with plenty to do and see at all times of the year. The Okanagan region offers world-class wineries, sunny vineyards and orchards, spectacular hiking and biking trails along the historic Kettle Valley Railway, as well as a top-rated ski resort.

Home to some of BC’s most famous wine country, Naramata boasts 19 world-class wineries, many of which offer tours and tastings. The Spring and Fall Okanagan Wine Festivals are especially popular and are a great opportunity to take in the area’s natural splendour.

The Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) once linked the vast Kootenay and Okanagan regions of BC. Today, people come to hike, bike, cross-country ski or horseback along the KVR’s gentle grade rail bed. The spectacular route stretches through vineyards and orchards, across the McCullough Trestle and into Naramata, featuring fine views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding hillsides.

Just an hour’s drive from Naramata, you’ll find superb skiing and snowboarding at Apex Mountain Resort. Regarded as some of the best skiing in BC by Ski Canada Magazine, Apex has been noted as the "Best Small Destination Resort" and "Best Use of God-Given Vertical." Come to experience Okanagan powder, short lift lines and uncrowded slopes.

Tucked into the hills behind Naramata, picturesque Chute Lake is surrounded by alpine flowers and is naturally stocked with rainbow trout. The lake features a boat launch with up to 10HP motors permitted, and has pedal boats, canoes, and rowboats available for rental. During the winter months, the lake is ideal for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing.

Nearby Penticton offers golfers a choice of nine courses including Twin Lakes Golf Resort, Penticton Golf & Country Club, Pine Hills Golf & Country Club, Sage Mesa Golf Club, Pleasant Valley Par 3 Golf Course, Riverside Par 3 Golf, Skaha Meadows Golf Course and St. Andrews by the Lake Golf Course in Kaleden.

Situated on the upper floor of our fully restored log lodge, our charming bed and breakfast guestrooms feature original wrought-iron furnishings and private verandahs overlooking beautiful Okanagan Lake.

On the main floor, the lodge offers a cozy lounge complete with a fieldstone fireplace, grand piano, and television, while the adjoining room has a unique log bar and dining area. Both feature panoramic views of the resort’s landscaped courtyard, as well as the sandy shoreline of beautiful Okanagan Lake, and the undulating foothills beyond.
