Property Description

Quiet. A deck with muskoka chairs.. A cabin by the water, and loons calling.

It is always nice to think of holidays. Our 6 cabins are log, well-spaced and right on the lake, surrounded by white birch. Cabins range in size from one to four bedrooms. We are a small lodge, so even when we are full it is never crowded here. Our lake is 16 kilometers long, with plenty of structure and shoreline to fish or just to explore by boat, canoe or kayak to see the wildlife. We are only a 15-minute drive from Algonquin Park’s East Gate, with its trails, museums and programs. If you paddle across the lake, you are in the Park.

We enjoy giving our guests a chance to completely relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. We'll bring you breakfast each morning, and you'll have the day to spend exactly as you please.

We have been at the Lodge since 1982 and Hay Lake is very special to us. Our background in wildlife management and environmental education has been useful in working to ensure the natural beauty of the area. Just as important is the pleasure we receive introducing guests to Algonquin’s quiet wilderness. We hope that you will join us this season. Please let us know if we can help with your getaway.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

We have over 1000 feet of shoreline, and all of our cabins look out over Hay Lake. Use the included canoes and kayaks to explore the shoreline. When you paddle into a quiet bay, you'll feel there is no one else on the lake.

Explore Algonquin Park, try the float trip on the Madawaska River, find out how many artisans have set up shop in Maynooth, go horseback or ATV touring with Highland Wilderness Tours - or just savour the quiet and relax on your screened porch.

Individual Cottage Description

Our cabins are first-class!
Traditional log cabins with knotty pine paneling, our cottages are fully equipped. The kitchen has everything from a coffee maker and tea kettle to a microwave. Large screened porches overlooking the lake allow you to sit out with your coffee to welcome the morning, or listen to the loons in the evening. All cabins have a gas, electric or wood fireplace.

Our family is proud of the reputation we have earned over the years for personal service and attention to our guests and spotlessly clean accommodations. We try to think of the details, from a hand-crocheted blanket at the foot of the bed right down to paper towels and coffee filters.

Summer weekly rates:
• each additional adult $385
• children 3-12 $165
• children under 3 FREE
Summer nightly rates:
• each additional adult $60
• children 3-12 $30
• children under 3 FREE

Cancellation Policy

Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly.
Cancellations received 14 days before arrival will be refunded less a $50 administration fee.
Cancellations received 7 days before arrival will be refunded half the deposit.
If cancellation is received less than 7 days before your arrival date, you may apply it to a stay later in the season, or forfeit the deposit.
