Camp Wildwood is a family owned and operated lakefront rental cottage and campground business on Black Lake in the North Country of New York. Situated on 4 acres with over 600 feet of shoreline, Camp Wildwood sits on Mitchell Bay on the quiet south shore of the lake. Just 2 hours north of Syracuse (an hour north of Watertown), Camp Wildwood is located across the twin bridges from Edwardsville where groceries, gas, bait & more are available.

Our camps offer a uniquely quiet, private and secluded setting. One of the special treats on this side of the lake is watching the sun set over the water.

Each cottage is surrounded by trees and rolling lawns, and has an adjacent parking spot. The screened fish cleaning shack with water and electricity is the place to prepare your day's catch for your evening meal.

Activities

A Fisherman's Paradise - Sportsmen from all over the world come to fish Black Lake, often referred to as Nature's Fish Nursery, for the abundant supply of largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, muskellunge, bullhead, catfish and a variety of pan fish including perch, bluegill and crappie.

For those looking for more than fishing, you'll discover plenty to do. Enjoy a drive through our beautiful farmland. Along the way find roadside stands and shops where our Amish neighbors are offering everything from hand-made furniture and baskets, to home-made jellies and baked goods, to some of the most delicious fruits and vegetables you'll ever taste. Just a short drive away is Alexandria Bay, the heart of the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River. With boat tours of old castles, views of stately mansions from bygone times and scuba diving around an old sunken ship there's certainly plenty to do for history buffs, boaters and shoppers. And just over an hour away you can visit of our neighbors to the north, in Canada's capital city of Ottawa.

Individual Unit Description

Our furnished 2-bedroom cottages can each accommodate up to 5 guests with 2 full/double beds and an additional single bed in the living room. Each cottage has heating and air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and a TV & DVD player. Camp 1 has satellite TV. Outside each cottage is a charcoal grill, stone fireplace and picnic table. We also provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and hand soap.

The kitchen is equipped with plates, glasses, mugs, flatware, pots, pans and cooking utensils. Each cottage has a full-size fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster.

Linens are not provided. Please bring your own sheets (we have Full size beds), blankets, sleeping bags and towels.

A laundry facility (washing machine) is available to camp guests. A laundry line is available on request. There is also an outdoor bath house with men's and women's toilet and shower.

Boat & motor rentals are available to Camp Wildwood guests only. Should you bring your own boat, there is no charge for boat launch & docking for our guests (limited to one boat per cottage unless prior arrangements are made).

There is an additional charge for extra guests, and there is a maximum capacity limit for each camp. Please be respectful and don't jeopardize our licenses and permits by exceeding those limits.

Additional Rate Information

Advance deposit is required within 10 days of booking to guarantee reservation.

Rates are for up to 5 people per camp. Additional charges of $10 per day, or $50 per week apply for each additional guest. Prior approval is required. Capacity limits apply. Please call or email for info.

Pet Fee $10 per night (with prior approval only).
