Beaches/Surfing
There are many beaches to explore in the Tofino area. Mackenzie Beach is a short walk from Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary Inn. Chesterman Beach is only a little further south, and is 3km long. Both beaches are rich with exploring potential. There are tidepools, crevices, rocks and maybe even a cave to explore (depending on the tide). Long Beach is a 10 minute drive south of Cobble Wood and Bird Sanctuary Guesthouses, and located in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. It is miles long, with great year-round surfing potential . There are places nearby where you can rent wetsuits and a surfboard, body board or skimboard and take a surfing lesson. When you arrive at Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary House & Suites, there will be map of the area for you to take to explore all the beaches in the area.

Fishing
Both Tofino and Ucluelet boast great salmon and halibut fishing. There are many guides in Tofino and Ucluelet that can take you to the best fishing grounds. It is best to book your fishing guide in advance to guarantee a good guide and availability.

Tours
There are hiking, kayaking, whale watching, sight seeing, bear watching and Hot Springs tours out of Tofino. You can partake in any of these tours either by boat or float plane. These are exhilirating adventures that will leave you with unforgettable memories of the West Coast of Vancouver Island. These can usually be booked after your arrival in Tofino.

Biking
Biking is a popular form of transportation in Tofino. It is a great way to explore the beaches and town. Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary Inn are located near the multi-pupose path, which takes you to Tofino and the Tofino Botanical Gardens in one direction or to a number of the beaches in the other direction. Bike rentals are available close by if required.

Individual Unit Description

The Sandpiper Suite
"The Sandpiper" 2 bedroom suite has a private entrance, full kitchen, vaulted livingroom/dining room, gas fireplace, wireless internet, cable, tv/dvd and phone. The first bedroom of the suite has a Queen size sleigh bed and down comforter. 'The second bedroom has both a Queen bed and a Single bed. There is also a Double Futon bed in the main livingroom of the suite.

This suite can be used alone as a 2 bedroom suite or if you wish it can be used in conjunction with the Hummingbird Suite to make a 3 bedroom unit.

The Hummingbird Suite
The Hummingbird Suite is a fully self-contained studio suite with its own entrance, kitchenette*, fireplace and private full bathroom, all heated floors, wireless internet, cable, tv/dvd and phone. Enjoy the window view of the peaceful forested area of the bird sanctuary. Breathe in the fresh West Coast air while sitting on the cozy cedar deck looking over the natural pond and gardens. This suite offers a Queen bed, an extra Double Futon and available cot. All linens provided.

Golden Dawn Suite
This completely private suite is equipped with a full kitchen, fireplace, 3 piece bathroom with full tub, private bedroom with queen sized bed (with down comforter) and walk-in closet. There is a double futon in the living room for an additional 2 people. An extra cot or playpen/crib is available upon request.

Sunset Cedars Suite
Sunset Cedars Suite is a charming, cozy, private suite with vaulted ceilings and separate entrance. There is a queen sized bed as well as a fold-out futon for extra family members.

Jacuzzi Garden Suite
This suite features a king sized bed, private latticed garden patio area, fireplace and jacuzzi soaker jetted tub. Other conveniences include private bathroom, TV/VCR/DVD, telephone, wireless internet and a kitchenette* with complimentary hot beverage basket.
