Property Description

This is a complete renovated cottage with over 400ft of water frontage on the Moira River. A place of solitude, and very private. It will be most suitable for a relaxing quiet time, meditation, recuperation, or just to be away from the usual chores.

Surrounded by mature trees with a sunny deck, situated along a curving Moira river leading to Stoco Lake, access to Hawkins Bay and Black river. No other cottages are close by. There are good fishing areas. Low boat traffic with mainly canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats.

We have two small private sandy beaches and a aluminum boat with motor, oars and two life jackets for your use at no extra charge. Also available is a kayak and oars. There is a dock in place to moor the boat on or to jump from in the water.

With the sloping sandy beaches and a gradual sloping riverbed, the river is also good for swimming. The water is clean and in slow motion due to dams regulating the water flow. There is also a kids pool available for guests with small children.

This is a very private location on a no-exit road with no traffic passing by. So to speak, a little hiding place.

The cottage has two good size bedrooms, one with a generous double bed and the other with queen size bed.
Bright, spacious well equipped oak kitchen, large fridge, bottom freezer and flat top stove. Roomy dining area and living room with and lounge chairs. Large picture windows in the living room facing the river.
There is an airconditioner and ceiling fans in the bedrooms and dining area.

Large outside deck with screened gazebo, patio set and BBQ, Picnic table, fire pit, and basketball net on the grounds.

Smoking, drunkenness or doing drugs are NOT allowed on our premises. No hunting.
We will consider you bringing a pet, and we'll talk about this before booking.

Away from the busyness and the noise of the city, this is the place to relax, unwind or to slow down with little disturbance. There is a DVD player with flat screen, with some DVDs. Bring a few books along, DVDs can be locally rented. There is a radio with CD player, also very good cell phone/internet reception as long as you have your own server.

Come and enjoy the otters play in the river, early in the morning. Turkeys may meet you in the lawn and don't think anything about you staring at them. Some days they will show off their young. Throw out a line and catch a bass or a sunfish, or just hang around and get a suntan.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Ideally located, the cottage will accommodate up to four people, plus perhaps a small child. No overnight guests are allowed over and above four people, including the registered guests.
The cottage is about 4 km to the village of Tweed, which is on Stoco Lake.

Tweed has all the things you need, including a public park at Stoco Lake, medical centre, dentist, lawyer, drug store, gas bars, garage, gift shops, hardware store, restaurants, food store, health food, school, library with internet access, laundromat, post office, Real Estate, local historic building, golf, different churches and much more.

Additional Bedroom Information

Fair size bright bedrooms with dressers, chairs, closets and ceiling fans. One bedroom has queen size bed and the other has double bed. Air mattress available and also playpen for sleeping of little child. All bed linens are provided.

Fees & Deposits

Additional Rate Information

Fees are as follows :
$300 for a 2 night weekend;
$450 Long weekend, 3 nights; (Friday after 2:00 pm - Monday before noon)
$650 for 5 week-nights ($130 per week night);
$900 for 7 nights whole week;
$950 for 7 nights including a Long Weekend;
$1700 for any 2 weeks.

Please, contact us for fall rates and for rates of more than 2 weeks stay.

To secure your booking we need 25% of the fee in advance through money order, cash or through your Bank transfer "Interac" or other arrangements as agreed upon.

For a weekend or 2 to 3 night stay, a refundable damage/security deposit of $100 cash is required on day of arrival. For for more than 3 nights, 1 or 2 weeks, a refundable deposit of $200 cash is required, or as discussed between parties.

A minimum of 2 nights must be booked.
Bring your bath towels, toiletry, food and drinks, we have most of the rest.

Different days can be arranged depending on availability.
We are flexible and like to meet your requests in as much as possible.

The cottage is available for guests from May 12th till September 29th, 2012.
