OVERVIEWThe Bayview Point Cottage is located on beautiful, clear and rugged Lake of Bays, Muskoka. It is situated on Emerald Bay, at the north end, a short boat ride from Dorset. It is 10 minutes by car to Dwight and 25 minutes to Huntsville.The 1400 square foot cottage sits on an acre and a half for wonderful privacy. The private waterfront is 225 feet wide. The view is southwest, meaning youâll have sun from morning through late afternoon. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The cottage was built in the 70s by Viceroy. It's a mix of retro kitch and Adirondak lodge style. Highlights of our cottage include: easy road access and parking, a large deck off the great room and dining room, two walkout doors, large stainless BBQ, woodstove, a gorgeous lake view, massive, newly renovated boathouse, water trampoline, 1000 square foot boathouse rooftop deck, 12 Muskoka chairs, sixty feet of docks, shallow, sandy water entry at shore with deep water off the dock, use of two canoes and a kayak. If itâs raining (God forbid) there are two TVs, one with satellite channels and the other is a game system with Gamecube, a stereo system and dvd player. Despite its age, the cottage is very cosy with new broadloom throughout. Other upgrades include new ceramic tiles in the bath/shower, new toilet, new ceramic tile surrounding the woodstove. We have also installed a new water system. This includes a UV purifier making all water sources in the cottage safe for drinking.The cottage has four bedrooms. Three rooms have double beds and the fouth, the bunk room has two sets of bunkbeds. However, the maximum capacity for guests staying at our cottage is eight people. There is one three piece bathroom with a tub / shower.The greatroom / living room has a cathedral ceiling and plenty of space for your family. There are two sofas and six arm chairs. The south wall is all windows commanding wonderful views of Emerald Bay.The kitchen is also ample. It includes plenty of counter space and a low counter penninsula, great for food prep or for the kids to have breakfast at. The adjoining dining room features an antique dining room set. There is a sliding walkout door from the dining room to a deck with the BBQ. All bedrooms have closets. Nautica or Ralph Lauren duvets or comforters top the new mattresses. Please provide your own sheets, pillows and towels. BOATHOUSEOur boathouse is on the water, down a slope from the cottage. It is our pride and joy. We had it completely renovated in 2007. Itâs massive, the largest in the bay, featuring two slips and a massive rooftop deck of over 1,000 square feet. This aerial perch is where youâll want to spend most of your day if youâre not in the water. There are twelve white cedar Muskoka chairs for your comfort. The railing around the perimeter of the boathouse deck is a combination of glass and picketts meaning youâll have 270 degree views of the bay.Youâll have use of the rooftop deck and the boathouse docks that surround it. There is a floating dock extension with a swim ladder. The water depth at the end of the dock is seven feet. The shoreline has been naturalized. The lake bottom at the shore is sand. There are no weeds. You may exit the water at the shore via stone steps. The water level at the shore is a foot deep.You will have access to two canoes and a kayak. We will provide paddles and life jackets. New at our cottage this year is Splashzone, a water trampoline with attached slide and log roll. The kids will have hours of fun on this water playground while you watch them from the boathouse roof or the teak garden bench on the dock.If you have your own boat, you are welcome to bring it and moor it at the boathouse. There is 60 feet of dockage for mooring. There are boat launches in Dorset, Dwight and various marinas on Lake of Bays

Lake of Bays LAKE OF BAYSLake of Bays in Muskoka takes its name from the curves in its shoreline, which, if straightened out, would stretch 563 kilometers (350 miles). The Township encompasses 66,267 hectares (165,667 acres), most of it water. The Indians called Lake of Bays "Num g e low e g go mark lak a hagan" which means Lake of Forks.There are three towns located at points on Lake of Bays, all of which are accessible by boat or car. Dwight (A) is the closest village to the world famous Algonquin Park. It boasts a number of restaurants, accommodation, supply stores, as well as a beautiful public sand beach and docking facility.Baysville (B), the gateway to Lake of Bays from Hwy 11 is located at the junction of the South Muskoka River and the Lake. The village centre includes a scenic dam with parks and picnic areas, good for fishing and boat launching. Baysville, a centre of cottage activity, has a variety of stores, restaurants, artisan studios with a range of accommodation. Dorset (C) is famous for its Lookout Tower offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area - a must for picture taking, especially the fall colours. Robinson's, voted as Canada's Best General Store, is in Dorset.
