The quaint cabins of Whitecap Lodge are nestled in the heart of Grand Marais, Manitoba, situated within walking distance from the white sands of Grand Beach Provincial Park.

Whitecap Lodge, with its one, two and three bedroom cabins is open year-round and is a perfect escape for couples, families and friends looking for an inexpensive, yet incredible getaway.

Less than a five minute walk to the West Beach!

Winter Activities

Snowmobiling – If your pleasure is the speed of a snowmobile you will find endless miles of groomed trails within the parks perimeter. Skiers and snowmobilers alike wait for the snow to fall and then head for the trails of Grand Beach.

Snowmobile trails to Belair, Pine Falls, Lac du Bonnet, Whiteshell Provincial Park, Gimli and the Can-Am International Trail. Throughout your journey you will find warming stations where you can rest and warm up, before heading back out into the snow.

Cross Country Skiing – Grand Beach offers some of Canada's best ski trails. The trails very in length and skill levels from 2.6 km to 13.3 km, all five trails begin and end at a common point and are clearly marked. Snowmobile trails to Belair, Pine Falls, Lac du Bonnet, Whiteshell Provincial Park, Gimli and the Can-Am International Trail. Throughout your journey you will find warming stations where you can rest and warm up, before heading back out into the snow.

Ice Fishing – By mid December our local ice fishing shacks will be out on the frozen waters of Lake Winnipeg. The fresh water lake is abundant with perch, walleye, northern pike, silver bas, carp and even the occasional catfish, standing today as the world’s 12th largest lake and Canada’s 6th largest. Fishing licenses may be purchased in advance directly from the lodge.

White Sand Beach – Why not spend your day on Grand Beach’s beautiful white sand beach. Grand Beach offers a variety of activities for all ages. Whether your pleasures include playing beach volleyball, basking in the sun, walking the 3 km of beach or jet skiing, Grand Beach is the place to be.

Ancient Beach Self-Guiding Trail – This picturesque self-guiding trail leads across ancient beaches where Lake Agassiz used to lay, before disappearing over 8000 years ago. Glacial Lake Agassiz, at one time, covered much of southern Manitoba. Approximately 9000 years ago, Lake Agassiz began to drain like a giant pool, into various bodies of water such as the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, the Artic Ocean and Hudson Bay. As you walk through this fully groomed trail expect to see a forest full of jack pine, spruce and birch, and maybe if your lucky a deer or black bear that live amongst the forest that once lay beneath the glacial ice of Lake Agassiz. The Ancient Beach Trail is 2.1 km in length, allow approximately 1 hour.

Golf - The Grand Beach area hosts to three outstanding golf. Courses located near the property. Our latest addition to the courses is Grand Pines. Opened in 1998 this course plays like it has been around for twenty years with their manicured greens and PGA length fairways, this course is sure to challenge the most talented golfers. The area also is host to Pine Falls and Victoria Beach golf courses.

The guest cabins are fully furnished with a complete eat in kitchen, living room , Satellite TV and three piece bathroom. Each cabin has a deck with a propane BBQ and is nestled within the grounds of the property to give our guests a feeling of seclusion and privacy.
