Skycroft Campground was established in 1958 and is located on beautiful Opinicon Lake between Chaffeys Lock and Davis Lock on the Historic Rideau Canal. We offer private secluded camping in our mature forested campground on the Canadian Shield.

This sought after campground has endless hiking trails for all skill levels to enjoy. We are located 5km west of Chaffeys Lock where the Rideau, Cataraqui, and Trans Canada Trail intersec. This is in addition to the 15km of our own trails. Take a hike and explore the wildlife and nature. We are well known for the abundance of deer, turkeys and many varieties of birds, plants, and trees.
Opinicon Lake is a beautiful lake with great fishing for bass and pike. A great lake for kayaking, boating, and swimming. Rent one of our pontoons and take a tour through the historic locks to Westport Ontario famous for it's many shops. A beautiful postcard village.

We have everything you may need, hot showers, flush toilets, laundry, boat ramp, canoe and kayak rentals and sales, fishing boats, pontoons, paddle, a great beach, sports field, playground, and even our own island. Skycroft Island is about a 3300sf island with a tow ferry where kids and adults can pull themselves over for a swim or fish.

Skycroft of located in the heart of Cottage country on the historic Rideau waterway and is a short drive to many wonderful things to do and see in this picturesque part of Canada.

You can choose from:
Golf - There's about 12 courses within an hour's drive, several in less than 30 minutes.
Visit - Many fine places to see and explore in Kingston and surrounding villages.
Shopping - Several small villages offer excellent unique shopping opportunites and large malls in Kingston.
Movies - There's several good movie theatres playing the lastest from Hollywood.

Facilities:
From potato chips to laundry machines, Skycroft offers facilities to look after your needs during your stay.

The Camp Store - The small but well equipped camp store offers ice, firewood, fishing supplies, snacks, drinks, ice cream, common grocery staple goods, and souvenirs. During the peak season of July and August, bread, milk and meat products are also available. The Camper's Services Centre offers a pay phone, recycling bins, ice machine and bulletin board.

Plenty of Docks - Dockage is available for boats up to 20 feet long. Good water depth at the docks assure you of a safe mooring for your boat.

For Your Comfort - The camp washhouse offers 3 toilet booths, 3 showers booths, 2 sinks, 1 urinal, washing machine and clothes dryer. Each booth is totally private. For your convenience, Pit-type toilets are located throughout the park.

Individual Unit Description

If you value privacy, then you'll love these campsites. Each site has been individually carved out of a mature hardwood forest. All sites are great for tenting.

Two campsites offer water and 30 amp. electrical hookups. We have 5 campsites that offer water and 20 amp. electric hookups. We also have two campsites to offer with beautiful views of Lake Opinicon.
They only have water hookups available.

Guests - Children (6-16) - $3/daily, $18/weekly
Camping Check-In is 2:00pm and Check-Out is Noon

*Optional on-site pumpout service available

Note: Reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night from the last Saturday in June through Labour day weekend are not taken more than 60 days in advance unless they are for 5 or more nights. Two night minimum to book in advance. 3 night minimum for long weekends.
