Muskoka Attractions
Muskoka is home to some of Ontario’s finest attractions. Museums such as Bethune House and Muskoka Heritage Place showcase Muskoka’s history, while nature lovers travel from far and wide to enjoy the region’s great outdoors – Muskoka’s many parks boast countless lakes, rivers, beaches, waterfalls, campsites and hiking trails. You can also get close to nature at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre, Echo Valley Observatory or the only dark sky reserve in Ontario, the Torrance Barrens.
Why not experience a Muskoka tradition with professional theatre performances at the Gravenhurst Opera House and the Muskoka Lakes Music Festival? For the kids in the family, there’s always Santa’s Village and Sportsland for some great indoor/outdoor thrills and spills.
No visit to Muskoka is complete without taking in the scenery (or the splendor of the region’s fall colours) on a sightseeing cruise on one of Muskoka’s beautiful lakes. Cruise Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph on an historic steamship or the Lady Muskoka, explore Lake of Bays on a pontoon boat, or hop aboard the Island Queen and tour the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay.

Dream Retreat

What a wonderful place to spend a family holiday! We were astounded by how every possible convience was available to us. Not once did we hear one another say "I wish we had a _____ here". We Loved the walk in beach, the slide and dock. But out favorite outdoor feature was the fire-pit which seemed to float on the water. Stunning Sunsets and night sky star gazing kept us speachless. Inside the muskoka room was a quiet place to read, the Great room still cozy dispite it's space and the kitchen a chef's dream come true. On the one night it rained, we were happy at the excuse to stay indoors and challenge on another to the many games offered in the basement. (Sadly, I did not once finish first in basketball.)
There were many great resturants to dine at in town and we appreciated the short drive to Gravenhurst for a day trip. We were calling it "home" before we left!
Thank you for creating this Dream Spot! We will certainly book again for next summer.

Beyond Expectations

Although we cannot guarantee the same weather we experienced, we can assure future guests at the Beach House that your visit will offer a touch of heaven in one of Canada's most beautiful and pristine locations no matter what season you select for a vacation. This home is absolutely incredible and well designed for comfort, culinary extravaganza, family fun and relaxing solitude. Day trips for some included Bala, Port Carling, Gravenhurst and Bracebridge, each offering a unique experience and history. The area is great for dinning, shopping and sightseeing however the greatest pleasure was to be ourselves at the Beach House where the setting was so conducive for the interests our family share; music and song around the fabulous fire pit at the lake, gourmet dinning with all necessary kitchenware, casual BBQ's on a stunning deck, sport broadcasts on state of the art televisions, biking on the island roads, watching our 10 month old grandson stretch out and safely explore the massive living space, watching playoff baseball and NHL, board game and video game competitions or simply conversing in comfortable chairs at water's edge listening to the loons. The decor is so beautiful and you feel pampered and spoiled as soon as you enter the door. I would recommend good books, fine wine and binoculars to capture the wildlife that seems to delight in fascinating us everyday. You are close to groceries and all conveniences are within 15 minutes in any direction. We arranged for family photos with a local photographer to capture forever our time together. Our hosts were incredibly accomodating and their love of the Beach House is so evident in their attention to detail and their positive encouragement that make ourselves at home and experience everything it has to offer. We will return.
Didn`t Want To Leave!

We just came back from a 4 night stay at The Beach House. We have rented several cottages in Muskoka and this one was by far the best. The other reviews describe the amenities very well so I won't repeat what others have said. But, I will say this - there's only one problem with this place and it is that renters eventually have to leave! It truly is a wonderful experience. Most of the furnishings are from Restoration Hardware. The couches are extremely comfy (not the same as the ones in the living room pic on the profile). There are beautiful wide-board hardwood floors on the main level that are very comfortable underfoot. The bedroom set-up is perfect - the King and Queens with lakeviews for adults and the kids rooms on the other side. The house worked perfectly for our party of 6 adults and 7 kids (5 boys and 2 girls). On the main floor the boys corner worked very well with 4 boys in the 2 sets of bunk beds (wow, did they have fun) and another one in the double. The girls were very comfortable in the pretty room with two twins upstaris. Many more comforts inside.
The other thing that you need to know about this place is that the set up at the lake is fantastic. There is both deep and shallow access. You can dive off the dock, and, the slide at the end of the dock is so much fun for the kids, who were up and down hundreds of times. The kids also played for hours at the sand beach. Another important thing to point out is that often at the dock it is full sun or nothing. We really liked the fact that there are a few trees in front of the cottage that you can sit in a shaded area.
Overall, an absolutely beautiful space.
Breathtaking Experience!

I rented this cottage for my birthday weekend with a big group of friends that I postponed for over 2 weeks. I dealt with a lady named Cindy, who was a dream to communicate with in booking this cottage. The end result is this. The pictures do not do justice, this place is absolutely stunning in person. Each room, each bathroom makes you feel like you are in paradise in the middle of nowhere. I will love to come back here again in the near future. It is truly an experience to remember. Thank You to the owners for building an amazing place to relax and enjoy scenery on the lake with an amazing fire too. This place is very family oriented so please respect it. I cannot stress the respect aspect since the owners and the cottage truly deserves it.

If Pottery Barn made cottages, this would be it. The Muskoka Beach House is better in person than in the pictures. We found this place online and booked it without ever seeing the property, my entire family loved staying there over New Year's eve! It was hard to leave!!! :)

Family Day Weekend

Our party of 6 adult couples spent Family day weekend in the cottage and it was the best Family Day we celebrated. The Beach House cottage was even better that we expected. It was clean, bright and lovely. The cottage had all necessary kitchen and entertainment stuff, we didn't feel lack of anything. I personally liked the design and decor of the cottage, everything is convenient and comfortable there. Thanks to the owner, she provided us with the guidelines for Muskoka activities and we found provincial park nearby for walking trails, and also places for ski and sightseeing. Our stay was interesting, warm and really relaxing. I would recommend it for family gathering in any season of the year and would be glad to visit it again
Courtice Chicks
Date of Stay: 02/01/13 Review Submitted: 02/24/13
“Wow” An enchanting and dreamlike feeling, completely incapacitates us immediately, as we enter the captivating driveway, to the tiny walk through the woods, over the miniature wooden bridge that covers the trickling creek, to the front door.
We the “Courtice Chicks” have been privileged, to spend our twenty year old traditional gathering at this well maintained, warm luxurious beach house cottage in the Muskokas'. We were welcomed with a surprise package, including a quick text on our arrival date.
We are a group of ten that were definitely not lacking in space, whether we choose to sit by the fire in the great room reminiscing, and sharing stories, read a good book in the sensational Muskoka Room nestled in the woods, overlooking the lake, or simply taking on a challenge of one of the many games available, basketball, a game of pool, or my favorite table tennis. The spacious kitchen gave us the opportunity, in trying our newest recipe creations. Our daily routine included a long walk, ending it off with drinks at the fire pit by the lake.
