The Wolseley Lodge at the French River is just 3.5 hours north of Toronto we offer 16 clean and comfortable cabins ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms. Originally built in 1928, we have made every effort to maintain the rustic charm of each cabin, some of them are nicely shaped log cabins, while adding the services which will make your holiday comfortable and safe. All Housekeeping and American Plan cabins have fully equipped kitchens, 3 piece bath with showers, all bedding, charcoal barbecues, picnic tables and conveniently located fire pits throughout the grounds. The sandy beach and the playground offer lots of fun for the children.

The French River is more like a chain of lakes connected by rapids. In these lakes you find many islands, bays and channels. You will find fishing heaven at the Wolseley Bay and French River, more than 95% of the shore line are untouched and protected. You can fish for Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass and fro sure you will find Perch, Sunfish and Rock Bass. You looking for Sturgeon, Channel Cats or Whitefish you will find them in the French River. Be always prepared for a big one, Muskie over 50'' and Walleye over 30'' get caught every year. Make sure your camera is in the boat. There are also many nature adventures waiting for you at the Wolseley Bay and French river: hiking, swimming and tubing, historic sides etc. or just cruising with our Pontoon and enjoy the beauty of nature.

At the Wolseley Lodge, along with great fishing at the French River there are many other activities to satisfy every desire during the season. Take advantage of our on-site facilities including paddle boats, canoes, children's playground, beach and free fire wood .

Or spent an enjoyable day exploring islands, bird watching, hiking trails, rapids (please bring your own kayak or tube), or a cruise with a Pontoon boat on and back in the history of the French River.

During the months of September and October you can enjoy the splendour of the fall colours.

Or if you're an avid golfer enjoy the great scenery and sink a few holes at a nearby golf courses. You'll be happy to know

that our area boasts 5 golf courses. Have a day trip to Sudbury, North Bay or Sturgeon Falls, all feature numerous shopping opportunities as well as museums and other points of interest.

Individual Cottage Description

Your choice of the housekeeping cabin or the all inclusive American Plan.

We offer 16 clean and comfortable cabins ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms.

Our cabins are fully equipped with a private 3 pc bath, electric heat, refrigerators, ranges, coffee maker and new microwave. All dishes, pots , pans, utensils, liquid detergent, kitchen towels, linens, a charcoal barbecue, and all your firewood for your evening campfires is supplied as well.

Picnic tables and conveniently located fire pits are located throughout the camp.

You are required to bring your own face cloths and bath towels.

All Housekeeping Guests are welcome to join us for any meals in our restaurant which offers a very scenic view overlooking the bay. We take pride in our wholesome, home-cooked meals and our friendly and courteous staff. Full menu choice and no reservations required.

Cancellation Policy

Because of our small size, short season and remote location, cancellations affect us significantly. As we don’t overbook the camp please understand that especially a last minute cancellation leaves us little to no chance to fill this spot again and for this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy.

If a written cancellation notice is received within 45 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded less 30% administration fee.

If a written cancellation notice is received less than 45 days prior to your arrival date, no refund will be possible.

No shows, or cancellations less than 10 days before arrival date, will be liable for 100% of the total value of the reservation.

By forwarding us your deposit and/or your authorization to use your credit card number for your deposit indicates your compliance with our booking terms and conditions. Verbal authorization for the use of your credit card confirms your reservation.

It is always important to have travel/cancellation insurance!
