The cottage is situated on the Paugh Lake shore about 2 hrs from Ottawa and 3 to 3.5 hrs from Toronto. The town of Barry's Bay is only fifteen minutes away. There are two grocery stores in town and many smaller stores for your cottage needs or for quiet and relaxed browsing. A fully equipped and well run hospital is located in town with easy access, should the need arise.

The living room has a queen size futon, a large field-stone fireplace, and patio doors to an intimate deck (sized for 2) for morning coffee/glass of wine, private conversations or star gazing. The living area is where you will also find the DVD player, TV, board games, and children's toys.

If you want a place separate from the living area to enjoy a morning coffee, to chat, read, or to play cards then the fully enclosed (glassed and screened) sun porch, overlooking the lake and swimming area , is 'THE' place to be.

The kitchen has a new fridge/freezer, stove/oven, new microwave, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, and a drinking-water dispenser. We provide the first full bottle of water for you. Guests will find a lunch bar, lots of cupboards and counter space plus all the basic kitchen dishes, utensils, and cookware here!

The dining area has a wood stove for those cool fall evenings, telephone, pullout couch, two ceiling fans, and stunning lake views through the two 'Walls of Windows'. The 4 piece bathroom (includes a tub/shower) and the master bedroom have both been renovated in pine and new floor tile.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

JEVACO Cottage is located on a medium sized but quiet and peaceful lake. The 200 foot long private shoreline offers many swimming, canoeing, boating, and fishing opportunities and being only 20 feet from the water plus the new dock makes water play extremely easy and inviting. The well treed lot is 1200+ feet from the access road and has a 400 foot strip of Crown Land that helps to create the 'private holiday' feel. Our cottage is close to a boat launch, white water rafting, golfing, and many craft shops. Fishing this sunny lake can produce bass, trout, or pike. The east gate of Algonquin Park is 45 minutes from town.

The cottage is surrounded by a large wrap-around (3 sides) sun-kissed deck. There is an outside fireplace, play area, and toys such as a slide, and a sandbox for the younger guests. In addition, outside features include a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, a propane BBQ (we supply the 1st tank with the rental) and a badminton/volleyball net.

The swimming area is weed free with a firm sandy bottom. There is a shallow entry at the shoreline that deepens to 4 or 5 feet at the end of the dock where there is deeper water for diving. The cottage comes equipped with a canoe, a kayak, and a pedal boat plus a long, wide, non-slip surfaced dock (new) with a large 8x12 sitting area out over the water. Note that there is a public boat launch on the lake about 1 KM south of the cottage and there are boat rentals available in the area.

The 2 well appointed bedrooms offer a queen bed (master bedroom) and a set of twin size bunk beds (second bedroom). The master bedroom has a ceiling fan. The living room has a queen size futon. We provide pillows, clean comforters, and kitchen towels. We ask our guests to bring bed sheets, pillow cases, and bathroom towels.
