Spectacle Lake Lodge is located in the picturesque Ottawa Valley, just 20 minutes east of the East Gate of Algonquin Park on HWY 60. We are a year round facility offering accommodation in lodge rooms or cottages, a full restaurant with breakfast, lunch or dinner, a lounge to relax and enjoy evening cocktails, and our Terrace Room to accommodate meetings or receptions.

Whether you are looking for a weekend retreat for two, a family vacation, a getaway with friends, a family reunion, a wedding reception or a business meeting, come experience the tranquil magnificence of Spectacle Lake. We are anxious to cater to your every need and request.

Activities

Summer
Guests staying with us have full use of our canoes, kayaks and peddle boats free of charge. We also have a good supply of life jackets at no charge. There is a small island just a few minutes boat ride from our beach that serves as a fun adventure for young and old alike.

For the fishin’ folks, you can cast your line right from our dock and are almost assured to catch something! Spectacle Lake is populated with Splake and Bass, so summer (or winter) the fishing is great.

Walking, Hiking, Mountain Bike Trails, ATVs… there is something close by for everyone. There is access to most trails right from the lodge, and for the more adventurous, you can drive just minutes to the East Gate of Algonquin Park and literally travel for hundreds of miles. Our licensed patio is an ideal setting to enjoy a cocktail, a casual lunch or just the lovely view. We have a 6-person outdoor hot tub that is available for use year round to all our guests.

Winter
Spend your day Cross Country Skiing, Ice Fishing, or Snowmobiling We are 100% snowmobile friendly, offering everything from truck and trailer parking, on-site refueling, to snowmobile parking at your accommodation. We are proud Volunteers of the Opeongo Snowbirds. We have spent countless hours volunteering and have done everything from building bridges, grooming trails and raising money. From Spectacle Lake Lodge you can ride the famous "Round Algonquin Park" trail or spend DAYS riding every expertise-level of trail. Our lake is one of the first to freeze in the area, and you can grab trails right from The Lodge.

There is nothing better after a day of winter activity than a drink by the fire, some gourmet food in our cozy dining room, bar or fireside lounge.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Spectacle Lake is a relatively small lake about 2.5 kms x 3.5 kms and is about 30 feet deep at its deepest point. Our sandy beach is groomed regularly and can provide hours of fun or relaxation. Guests staying with us are invited to use our canoes, kayaks or paddle boats free of charge.

Lakeside Cottages - Full-Kitchen. Furnished with: Flat Screen T.V. with over 100 satellite channels, Digital music, Linens and Bath Towels, Hair Dryer, Pots & Pans, Dishes & Cutlery, Fridge, Stove, Microwave, Coffee Maker and Air Conditioning. All of our kitchen cottages have a front porch with a Gas Barbeque and Patio Chairs. There is also a Picnic Table & Campfire Pit. Please bring your own beach towel. All Accommodations are 100% Smoke-Free.

Lodge Rooms - Room #1 - Lakeside, Fireplace, Pillow Top King Bed. Room #2 - Lakeside, Pillow Top Queen Bed, Deck. Room #3 - Pillow Top Queen Bed, Deck. Room #4 - 2 Twin Beds, Deck. Room #5 - 2 Room Suite, Pillow Top King. Bed, 2 Leather Chairs in Sitting Room. Three Room Suite - Room #4 & Room #5 (4 person max.)
