Rich in local history, Birmingham Manor is a charming, turn-of-the-century, Victorian heritage mansion surrounded by stately trees and formal gardens. The Manor is located in the heritage district of Stratford, Ontario Canada, home of the internationally acclaimed Stratford Festival.
Colonel John Lant Youngs built the Manor as his personal residence in 1905. Not only was Colonel Youngs a master wood carver and contractor, he was also one of Stratford's Mayors and a decorated officer during World War I. His workmanship is evidenced throughout the home including the quarter-cut oak woodwork and the fine detailing of the fireplaces. The Birmingham Manor boasts well-proportioned principal rooms, a grand entry hall and a magnificent staircase with a Juliet balcony.

Your hosts, Elena and Dom, have cultivated a home of quiet and graceful elegance. Enjoy your full, gourmet breakfast in the dining room. Delight in the formality of the parlor. Relax on our wrap-around veranda or in the garden. You are made to feel right at home. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and well-appointed for your comfort. All bedrooms have a queen-sized bed and each has its own bathroom for your privacy

We like art and offer art galleries - inside and outside - from the fine arts to hand-crafted quilts from throughout North America. Theatres, shops, restaurants, public gardens and nature paths are all within easy walking distance.
The T.J. Dolan conservation area is just up the street from us. Many of our guests love to run and walk in the wooded area along the river while enjoying the wildlife.

Individual Unit Description

A luxurious queen sleigh bed, an armoire, a triple dresser and a sofa define the bold Hampton Court room. Enjoy the garden aspect and evening sunlight from the window. An ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower completes your experience in this room.

The Balmoral is a tranquil room with a queen four-poster bed and a custom made armoire. A beautiful oak trimmed bay window is adorned with a tailored valance. Sit on the sofa by the window to admire our majestic walnut trees. Included is an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The Windsor is an inviting room with a queen canopy bed, tastefully decorated with soft green and golden tones. It has a custom made armoire and a vintage mirrored vanity. A stunning oak paneled private bathroom with a claw foot tub and waterfall shower is for the exclusive use of the Windsor guests. Bath robes are provided.

The Sandringham is a bright, airy and spacious room. A charming taffeta canopy adorns the queen bed. Sit and relax by the oversized bay window on a fainting couch or a wing chair. This room has a built-in closet and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

$40 (CDN) per room/night non-refundable deposit charged at time of booking.
The full amount is charged if the booking is cancelled within 14 days of the booking date. This will be refunded (less the deposit) if we are successful in re-booking the room(s).
