Property Description
Tawow Lodge offers a chance to experience Canada’s northland, filled with beauty, mystery and excitement. A rustic lodge with modern facilities, Tawow is a year-round wilderness camp that will give you a taste of Canada’s true north and how we live, work and play in it. At Tawow, we are known for our adventurous hunting excursions for Black Bear and Moose, as well our trophy-sized Northern Pike and Walleye. In the warmer weather, we can offer many activities, including open-water fishing in our “Master Angler” lake, Wekusko, as well as boating, canoeing, hiking, and ATVing.
The colder weather offers traditional ice-fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. With a variety of seasonal activities and your choice of lodgings, Tawow can provide custom-tailored Northern adventures any time of the year.
Cree for “a place to come together and rest”, Tawow Lodge characterizes the relaxed and beautiful way of life in Northern Canada. Nestled on Wekusko Lake, just 40 miles from the mining town of Snow Lake, we at Tawow Lodge offer a chance to find peace in a hustling world. Northern Adventures
'Spring and Summer'
As the weather warms, bear hunting season opens and it’s the perfect time of year to catch a trophy-sized Pike or Walleye. Tawow has some wonderful trails for bird watching and ATVing, and just thirty minutes away Snow Lake has a great golf course and beautiful beach with plenty of things to offer young children. The long summer days offer great fishing on Buzz Lake and Wekusko Lake just out our front door, and there are several other fishing lakes just minutes away.
'Fall and Winter'
In fall, there’s moose hunting and the chance to down a black bear from a tree stand or ground blind. October is the best month for Walleye fishing and as the colours change, the northern scenery makes an excellent subject for the photographer or artist. In winter, we`ll take you on the ice, helping if you wish, to set and lift nets for Walleye, Whitefish, or great Northern Pike. Or you can go out on the ice on your own and catch a shore lunch! Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling are a natural part of this adventure.
Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities
