Enjoy the privacy of semi-waterfront suites just steps through the rainforest to 3km of white sandy beaches. Sea Star strives to provide luxurious accommodation for the traveler to the Tofino area. With the warmth and closeness of on-site hosts and the privacy and freedom of a self-catering suite. Sea Star provides that special retreat where you can relax and enjoy your visit. It is our hope that you will feel as comfortable here as you do in your home surroundings.

Sea Star's Amenities:
Hot Tub and BBQ deck. Wireless high speed internet access, TV, DVD, and in-suite phones. Both the Garden and Studio suites have fireplaces. The Loft has an apartment kitchen equipped with a full set of dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and electric fry pan. The Studio and Garden Suites have a Kitchenette which includes: a bar fridge, microwave oven, 2 burner counter top hot plate, a full set of dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and electric fry pan. All Suites include a coffee maker, tea pot and kettle, salt and pepper, and enough coffee and tea to get you started on your stay. Sorry we do not keep any perishables in the suites. All Suites have in-suite laundry facilities. All Suites are between 500-600 square feet (46-56 m^2). Separate 40 Gal Hot Water Tank in each suite. Separate Private Entrances.

Suites On Chesterman's Beach

Chesterman's Beach, approximately 3 kilometers of white sand and scattered rock outcroppings, from the North West end by the Wickanninish Inn to the South East where it terminates in a rocky shoreline penetrated with crevasses and caves. About mid point the beach swings off in a spit to the South and at low tide joins up with Frank Island. During severe winter storms the ocean pounds on the island with such severity the waves actually crash over the rock formation at the center point creating two islands.

Surfers from all over the world come to Chesterman Beach to challenge the raw forces of nature. For the first time ever a Cold Water Classic surf championship was held on Chesterman Beach with the honour of first place going to Peter DeVries a local Tofino born resident. Young and old gather on the beach to experience the thrill of riding the surf. There are many surf schools and equiptment rental outfitters in Tofino to supply you with all the gear and training required. Here at Sea Star we provide beach side accommodations with racks for the surf boards, out side showers and a hot tub to warm up after. Happy Surfing.

In recent years, storm watching has become a major winter attraction for the Chesterman Beach and Tofino area. With hurricane force winds buffeting the coastline producing massive waves which explode like fireworks against the rocks sending spray rocketing skyward in an awesome display of nature at it's wildest. Walking the beaches and trails with the ocean and wind pounding down around you takes you into a surreal world of sailing ships and ancient explorers. Weather on the West Coast changes dramatically and can take you from sunshine and blue skies to a full blown storms all in one day.

Individual Cottage Description

The Loft - This suite has a private entrance that enables the occupants to come and go with convenience and ease. A queen bed in a master bedroom, then bunk beds in a second bedroom for the other members of the family. The living room has a large chesterfield complete with a queen pull out, for the those requiring that little extra space. The bathroom comes with a soaker tub to relax in with the convenience of a shower as well. There is a full apartment size kitchen with provisions for your first cup of coffee or tea. We have provided a combination washer and dryer.

The Garden - Vaulted cedar ceilings, massive cedar posts and beams, slate and real maple floors all with the warmth and comfort of a gas fireplace. You are then drawn to the huge canopied cedar bed with the incredibly inviting down duvet smothered in pillows. In the corner stands the ultimate in two person spa baths. The finest in Hydro-Thermo Massage Therapy. Enjoy the panoramic view of your own private Rhododendron garden with the rain forest as a back drop or sit on your private patio bordering the gardens and enjoy your surroundings. To ensure your stay is complete we have also provided a kitchenette. The Garden Suite is the ultimate in honeymoon suites.

The Studio - Relax in comfort with your loved one in our suite that feels like a cabin. Designed for couple's traveling or for honeymooners, this open concept studio suite is done in a full West Coast flavor, with rustic pine/spruce wood floors, vaulted cedar ceilings, modern kitchenette and decorated with West Coast prints from the area's finest artists. Queen sized bed with down duvet, Jacuzzi tub/shower, electric fire-place, cable TV/VCR and private washer and dryer are all designed into the suite for your convenience. Relax in the morning at your own pace, spend the day at one of the area's many activity's, then return "home" for an evening walk on the beach and the privacy of your own space. (Max. 2 persons).

House Rules

A credit card number is required to confirm a reservation and hold the suite. This can be made via our toll free number or we will provide access to a secure form online. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express or Debit. If you find that you must cancel we request at least 7 days notice.

Children and Extra Bed Policy:
All children are welcome.
All children or adults stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
Extra beds are not available.
Playpen is available
Baby cots are not available.
There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
