Welcome to our 1846 Italianate Inn, set on 1.5 acres on the wine route in Grimsby, Ontario (The Gateway to Niagara). Step back in time for a relaxing, memorable stay where the hospitality is topped only by the delectable treats that the Viticulture of this area can provide.

To start your day, the smell of fresh brewed coffee will awaken you and a sumptuous breakfast will fulfill you. Then choose any of the wonderful things to do along the wine route. From a morning of walking the Bruce Trail, cycling on one of three designated paths, to an afternoon of Wine Tastings at one or more of the local Award Winning wineries. There are also a number of Golf courses nearby to test your swing. Many festivals dot the calender from Spring to Winter.

Then return to the Inn to refresh, relax and enjoy the scenery from the 4th floor Widow’s Walk until it’s time to dress for dinner. We will then tempt you with a Teaser Wine Tasting from the Winery Restaurant where we will, upon your request, have booked your reservations for a fabulous dinner. Or, one of the local pubs might suit your mood.

When you’ve fully satiated yourself with the area’s delights, return again to the Inn for a Candle Lit Swim in our in-ground pool or sit by the firepit for an apéritif. Or, if it’s chilly, how about a game of pool in the library by the gas fireplace?

Then retire to your luxurious bedroom and curl up under a cozy duvet to watch a movie chosen from our library. Drift off to sleep feeling fully pampered and wake up to experience more of the area’s delights.

Weddings & Events

Our 1846 Historical Bed & Breakfast Inn on the Niagara Wine Route in Grimsby Ontario, located half way between Burlington & St. Catherines, is ideal for any outdoor elegant, casual wine country wedding or event.

There are many photo opportunities on our beautiful 1 1/2 acre property around the pool, gardens or the porch swings. Numerous options and price points can be discussed, from a casual barbeque around the pool, to a translucent floor over the pool, eluminating the tent from below. Very romantic!

We have four elegant ensuite rooms to accommodate your family, friends or wedding guests, many of whom choose to spend an extra day or two to enjoy the Niagara Wine Route.

Individual Unit Description

The Rustic Tuscany room will sweep you away by the rich reds, golds and bold blacks that decorate the room. Feel yourself slipping away, as you relax, in the deep soaker tub or shower in your ensuite bath. When you emerge feeling stress free you can slip into a thick terry robe and curl up in the queen size mahogany sleigh bed to watch a movie chosen from our library. Area rugs, reproduction and original antiques also adorn this room.

The Vintage Garden room will have you thinking of an old English courtyard. This room boasts a queen size garden gate bed dressed in rich tapestry and raw silk under an awning style canopy of lace and striped silk. Cozy terry robes are waiting for you to curl up in to watch a movie in bed chosen from our library. Choose to relax with a hot shower, or immerse yourself in your ensuite soaker tub.

The Allan Suite/Bridal Sute, named for the Allan’s who saved the house from a devastating fire 20 years ago, also serves as our Bridal Suite. With it’s rich gold brocade fabrics, scalloped victorian lace bedskirt and accessories this is a very gracious, romantic room. This very large room has a beautiful antique king size bed.

The Victorian/Safari Room is an elegant and romantic retreat. Set on the third floor, this loft room has a four-poster king size mahogany bed and a sofa bed. It is decorated in luxurious dupiani silk, leopard prints, rich reds and black velvet. This is our most private room and has views of both the lake and the escarpment. The ensuite has a red claw-foot tub and shower. This room also enjoys the luxury of being on the same floor as the “Widow’s Walk”. The room has terry robes, for snuggling up after dinner or for watching a movie in your room chosen from our library.
