Welcoming
We booked Goldora to attend a wedding in Port Ryerse. It was definitely the best place we could have chosen.....absolutely lucked out with the accommodations and our host Russ.
The suite we stayed in was clean, large, bed super comfy. The whole home is full of beautiful antiques and paintings and situated on large grounds overlooking Silver Lake.
Russ was as welcoming as can be and attentive to our every need. He loves to cook and it showed in the breakfasts he served us. We stayed six nights and he served a different menu every day......creative, gourmet, delicious. I am holding Russ accountable for my weight gain!
We walked from Goldora Place to downtown Port Dover easily. It is only short distances from Port Ryerse, Turtle Point, Long Point etc. There was much to see and do and we had a peaceful, comfortable, welcoming place to come home to every day. Thank you Russ for making our holiday special!
Wonderful Weekend
My wife and myself were looking for a special B&B to have a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We decided on the Port Dover area and were impressed with the reviews written by other guests about Goldora. It turned out to be a great choice and the reviews were all accurate; perhaps they were even a little conservative in their praise. The large home is located on a beautifully groomed property. Inside the home is filled with numerous antiques and three beautiful bedrooms. Ours had a separate sitting room and a wonderful bathroom with a claw bathtub and a separate shower. All these features would have been enough for a setting for a good weekend but there was oh so much more. The breakfast, prepared by Russ, was very special and a different culinary experience each morning. Both Russ and Sandra made us feel very comfortable, we soon felt as if we were visiting special friends, yet they managed to give us all the privacy that we desired. If you are looking for a great place to stay in the Port Dover area, this is it.
