Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Cottage is located on Alsop's Beach about 5 minutes from the cute town of Beaverton (good grocery shopping with both beer store & LCBO stores), on the eastern shore of Lake Simcoe across from Thorah Island. Less than an hour drive from Toronto, also about a 20-30 minute drive to Orillia and Casino Rama. A five minute car drive/boat ride from the entrance to the Trent/Severn water canal system at Gamebridge. The eastern side of Lake Simcoe boasts some of the most spectacular sunsets seen anywhere. The water is shallow at the shore, with sandy bottom, no rocks or weeds. Excellent swimming, fishing, boating, water-sking, water-sports, and canoeing. The fishing and ice fishing is considered amongst the best in the world. There is very easy access to the frozen lake with your ice huts and snowmobile’s and lots of places nearby to rent ice huts.
