Hidden Springs is more than a place to stay in this area of Central Alberta. Those who would like to come to Hidden Springs for retreat purposes are encouraged to consider what personal questions they are struggling with.

Some will come with a clear idea of what inner work needs to be addressed. Others may find one of our retreat outlines helpful. Intentional times of solitude or reflection often include such activities as prayer, Bible reading, silence, writing, personal worship, walks, recreation and reading from the devotional masters and other literature. These activities stem from the scriptural promises that Christians have held to over the ages: the belief that God is neither aloof nor silent. He may be heard. It is not unlike what we find over at the barn; 'The sheep follow the shepherd because they know His voice'. (John 10:4) In fact, practical lessons for living pour out of the careful observation of creation and the endless interplay of her many elements.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

SUMMER: Two canoes are available for use on the farm ponds or nearby Twin Lakes. Swimming in farm pond is refreshing on a hot day, or after a hot sauna! Park benches dot the grounds. Also, check out the fire-pit. Drive or hike to Twin Lakes. It is 3 km away, and affords a unique experience in a balsam fir microclimate. Twin Lakes, maintained by the County of Wetaskiwin, is a favorite spot for scuba divers. The campground maintains 60 campsites from May to September.

WINTER: 6 kms of groomed cross-country ski trails begin right out the chalet door and wind through the 156 acre property. Tobogganing, sledding, snowshoeing and skating are also welcome outdoor winter activities. Equipment is available for use.

Additional Bedroom Information

The chalet consists of two self-contained suites. The Upper and Lower suites, as we call them, are connected by an exterior stairway. Groups enjoy renting both suites (just add rents together and add for additional people over four). Each suite has different characteristics. Both suites feature full private baths.

The upper suite consists of a Queen bedroom and full kitchen. The Queen pullout in the common area means that this suite sleeps four nicely and more if necessary. This suite opens to a large deck looking out over the valley.

The Lower Suite has one bedroom and a TV room, with one Queen bed. A double pull-out and kitchenette are included in the common area. The Lower Suite will sleep four. A brick patio lets guests enjoy a fine view. There are also two guest rooms in the farm house which may be used to accommodate more people.

Basic rate listed is for whole chalet.
Based on double occupancy per suite or four persons per whole chalet.
$20.00 /additional person/night.
No charge for children under 6 years old.
Weeknight Specials may apply• Pet fee $10 per night
• $100 deposit required upon booking, fully refundable with two week's advance notice.
Cheque or cash only.
As of JANUARY 2013, Hidden Springs has shifted to cottage rental only and no longer includes breakfasts with cost of rental.
Cleaning fee only applies to single night bookings.
