Perfect for a romantic couples retreat, group bookings for a family reunion, a corporate getaway, the weary business traveller, or the outdoor enthusiast, this is the perfect location for travellers in all seasons and is only minutes from the Trans-Canada Highway and the Trans-Canada Trail system used by cyclists, hikers, snowmobilers, and skiers. We are situated 1 1/2 hours north of Fredericton and are considered by many of our regular guests to be the half-way point between Montreal and Halifax.
Your stay at the Castle Inn, first built in 1932 as a private residence, will be a memorable one highlighted by our eleven uniquely styled rooms, beautiful scenery, friendly service, and memorable dining. Our SPA Area offers an escape from the pressures of daily life and features a large indoor pool, custom-built steam room, hot tub, and fitness suite with Nordictrac fitness machines and a Bowflex system. There are many attractions in the community of Perth-Andover and surrounding areas, whether you are just stopping on the way through or staying for a few nights. The Castle Inn is surrounded by wooded trail systems and is near the St John River which has excellent fishing. Summer and winter activities may interest families, couples, and even the business traveller as a tranquil, scenic escape from the daily grind.
In the summertime, stroll down the hill and along the town’s waterfront walkway, pausing along the way to enjoy the majestic river valley. Stop for lunch at Lewis Pharmacy, the original business of the family who built the Castle Inn, and try a popular ‘Lewis Burger’ at the Pharmacy’s original soda fountain. After lunch, hike through the woods and experience the lush, green forest scents or enjoy relaxing with a book on the deck in the afternoon sun. Several attractions are an easy jaunt away--a short drive south to Hartland and you're at the world's longest covered bridge. Royal Suite
Located on the second floor, the Royal Suite offers 800 square feet of comfort and old-world elegance in the main part of the building dating back to the 1930s. It is accessible from both the main tower staircase and the rear lounge stairs and is a favourite with couples looking for a romantic getaway. Taking into account our varying seasons, the suite is equipped with both air conditioning and radiant floor heating in the private bath. The dining area features an original Persian carpet and provides the perfect opportunity for a romantic dinner for two in the privacy of your room. Two large windows overlook the river valley, and frame a beautiful view that varies with the seasons--from spring and summer greens and blues to vibrant autumnal hues and pristine winter whites. In the other direction, look out over the spacious lawn sweeping back to meet the estate’s old-growth forest.
Victorian Suite
Located on the second floor, the Victorian Suite is accessible from the back lounge stairs in the original part of the building dating from the 1930s. It features a sunny secluded sitting area overlooking the sweeping back lawn as well as a glimpse of the St John River. This airy space features a domed ceiling and fan, and can be converted into a private dining area on special occasions. In the main room, an antique chaise longue faces the original fireplace over an expanse of Persian carpet and provides the perfect spot for a quiet hour spent reading or relaxing. The Deluxe King size bed faces a dark wood armoire that discretely houses a television and DVD player, and air conditioning provides summer comfort. A two-person jet tub dominates the spacious private bathroom, complete with a separate glass shower unit and antique dressing chair.
