Welcome to Little Moose Lodge

The Clearwater-Pipestone Chain of Lakes is an extraordinary water system with over 70 miles of water. Due to its overall narrowness, many islands, sheltered bays and winding rivers, it can be fished even in rough weather. This unique water body consists of 11 pristine Canadian Shield lakes all connected together, offering superb Ontario fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Lake Trout, Perch, Crappie and Whitefish.

The area also has outstanding Whitetail Deer hunting as we are located inside the famous Whitetail Triangle of Northwestern Ontario and have the biggest wild fair-chase Whitetail Bucks in North America. 2010 Trailcam Photos of Deer & Wolf.

Located in Northwest Ontario's Sunset Country, we're a short one-hour drive north from the Fort Frances, Ontario and International Falls, Minnesota port of entry at the U.S.A. - Canada border.

Fishing & Hunting

Little Moose Lodge is home to one of the largest WHITETAIL DEER populations in all of Ontario. We invite you to experience a guided whitetail deer hunt in a true wilderness setting. Ontario hosts the second largest population of Whitetail Deer in all of Canada. Northwestern Ontario produces:

Clearwater Lake's transparent light blue color water normally requires a more finesse presentation, but its rewards are some very large fish. Clearwater Lake produces most of the trophy walleye caught by Little Moose Lodge guests. Every year the lake produces walleye up to 32 inches; occasionally the odd monster walleye are caught. A 34 inch walleye was caught last year & a 16 pound walleye a few seasons ago by some lucky fisherman.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

For over sixty years, Little Moose Lodge has been the place for families and groups to spend quality time together. At our Ontario resort there are many outdoor activities available, besides the excellent fishing, guests can enjoy boating, swimming and hiking to name just a few.

We have a small sandy beach that gently slopes into our own swimming area. It's perfect to spend a few hours swimming there and cool off on those hot summer days. If you prefer a little more action, we also have a water slide and floating dock within the swimming area. For those wishing to enjoy the water without taking a dip, we have a pedal boat and canoe available for you. Take a spin, and tour our picturesque shoreline.

For those guests that are really adventurous, cliff jumping might do it for you! Clearwater Lake has a 6' rock lodge, perfect for beginners to test out the waters at the swimming hole. Once acquainted with that, those seeking an adrenaline rush can head to the 40' cliff located a little ways down the lake, and test their bravado there. Truly, it's the ultimate way to cool off and experience a thrill.

A Canadian fishing trip is not complete, until you enjoy a traditional walleye shore lunch. There are many convenient locations on all of the lakes where groups can set up for the lunch. Spend the morning fishing, than reap the rewards of your efforts by enjoying the days catch in Canada's pristine wilderness. Shore lunch kits complete with cookware, utensils, potatoes, and all the fixins are available, you just need to catch the fish!

After a day of fishing, boating, swimming, or what have you, what better way to relax then under a blanket of stars at a campfire on the shoreline? If you ask us we would say there isn't one! Grab a chair, enjoy the warmth of the fire, and recapture the stories of the day with your friends and family.

Individual Unit Description

Little Moose Lodge offers boat and motor rentals, housekeeping cabins or Deluxe American Plan packages. We can also customize an Ontario fishing package that suits your needs. We provide everything you need, from bait to reliable fishing boats, free lake maps to experienced guides.

Little Moose is a smaller resort with 8 cabins. All cabins are fully equipped for housekeeping and range in size to accommodate 2 - 10 people. Our resort can accommodate up to 36 persons. In our busier weeks, we normally average 16-24 guests in camp at one time during Ontario fishing seasons.

The Main Lodge is the heart and soul of Little Moose. After a rewarding day on the lake, join us at the Lodge for coffee and conversation. Our rustic log lodge is equipped with satellite TV, pool table, games and puzzles, books on the wildlife and history of the area, paperbacks, and fireplace for those chilly nights.

Nestled beneath majestic white pines, spruce, aspen, cedar and balsam, Little Moose Lodge is a retreat from the pressure of everyday life. Sparkling clear lakes, rugged shores lines and fresh air are just some of the pleasures that await you. Basic Housekeeping Plan (you bring your own boat)
Includes cabin, lakes orientation and maps, fish wrap and freezing facility, use of all resort facilities that is available to our guests.

No Charge for children 5 and under. Minimum occupancy: two paying guests per cabin.
