Timberlane Lodge is a drive in fishing resort just a few miles from Ear Falls, Ontario.

The walleye fishing on Lac Seul is legendary. Northern pike and smallmouth bass are plentiful and lots of fun for the whole family. And if you like big game hunting for moose and bear, small game and grouse, we have extensive hunting experience in the Ear Falls area and can guide you to some real trophies.

Our family has lived, fished, hunted and worked in the Ear Falls, Ontario, area for decades and we put that lifetime of outdoor activity to work for our guests who the fishing at Timberlane Lodge on Lac Seul. The cabins have been painted, new ones built, older ones remodeled and we've added little touches here and there that really make our guests feel comfortable and appreciated.

The walleye fishing on Lac Seul and the action packed northern pike fishing will keep you busy on the water; the bear and moose hunting will exceed your expectations, wether you enjoy a fish fry on your deck or give your own cabin's barbecue grill a workout... the Ear Falls ambiance on Lac Seul at Timberlane Lodge will draw you back year after year.

About Us

Hello! And thanks to everyone who helped us have a great season in 2010 and we look forward to seeing you in 2011. We have 9 cozy cabins, four of which are newly built, and all provide our guests with hot and cold water, kitchen and bathroom facilities, beds and great views of the lake.

We have ten years experience in the lodge industry. Since Ear Falls is Vance's home town we are very happy and energized to be here as a family at Timberlane Lodge. Having a resort on Lac Seul is a special privilege, too! Lac Seul is renowned for it's fishery. High standards are kept on this lake and this has proven to maintain a successful fishery.

We have six year old twins, Cody and Kalli. They like to help out around camp and they love to play with other kids. Our two "camp dogs" are big but very friendly and spend lots of time with our guests. They are very children-friendly and very sociable with people... especially the ones who feed them. They are big dogs with big hearts so please don't let their size frighten you.

Our Camp manager, Chris Thiessen, has been with us since 2001. He is part of the family and does an exceptional job of running Timberlane Lodge. Chris grew up in southern Manitoba and is an avid fishreman and hunter. Chris enjoys doing our trade shows in the states to promote the camp and is always looking for ways to recruit more guests to enjoy this wonderful camp. Chris will be attending sports shows in Iowa, Wisconsin and South Dakota. He loves to talk about fishing and hunting so ask him lots of questions.

For our registered guests we offer a variety of services to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. The fish house is always a busy place to clean your fish and trade stories with other fishermen. We have freezer space for your catch if you wish to take fish home. Be sure to look at the fishing page for details regarding size limits on the walleye and smallmouth bass. We encourage catch and release on trophy fish.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

In our northwest section of Lac Seul the fishing is concentrated on the large population and size of the WALLEYE. Occasionally, though, just when you least expect it, you'll have a bragging sized NORTHERN PIKE to deal with. The English River has a constant flow right in front of our dock and the river levels are nearly normal... which means plenty of walleye fishing can be done close to camp.

We generally do not provide guide service because most guests have no difficulty finding good fishing spots. Each of our 12 cabins is provided with one free lake map, additional maps are available for a modest fee. If a guide is needed, please make your request a few days ahead of time and we will do our best to provide an experienced guide for you. Prices vary so do plan ahead if you will be needing a guide.

Timberlane Lodge added 8 new fishing boats with new 40hp Yamaha outboards last year. These motors will get you to the fish quietly and efficiently and the boats are excellent for trophy walleye and pike fishing... or just plain sightseeing. Our boats include 7 16.5ft Lund Stalkers with 25 and 30 hp Yamaha engines.

BEAR AND MOOSE HUNTING doesn't get any better than the Ear Falls area of northern Ontario. Our family run camp on Lac Seul is situated within a true wilderness setting where deer, bear, moose, and small game abound; and having lived here all our lives we know the terrain and the little special places the big game hang out. Look over our bear hunting and moose hunting information and be sure to call us if you have any questions about booking a hunt for bear or moose. Hunting licenses are available in Ear Falls at 4 Seasons Bait and Souvenir Shop just down the road from Timberlane Lodge.

Individual Cottage Description

We want to make your vacation a memorable one and hope you will want to return year after year to this unique area of Ontario. Our cabins have been repainted and there have been many new additions and upgrades. Everyone enjoyed the new barbecue grills at each cabin, too.

There are 12 cabins altogether and are divided among 8-person, 6-person and 4-person cabins.

We can accommodate up to 32 guests in our cabins. The 12 cabins, three of which are newly built, all provide our guests with hot and cold water, kitchen and bathroom facilities, cozy beds and great views of the river. Many improvements have been made during the two years we have owned Timberlane Lodge so that each guest has all the comforts of home.

Cabin #3...is our newest cabin that sleeps 9 people. Also has a pull out couch.
Cabins #4, 9, and 10 are 8 man cabins and are all set up the exact same way
Cabin #2 & 5 are log cabins with 6 beds (2 in the loft)
abin #7 and #8 are 4 man log cabins.
