Hillside Cottages are located at the beginning of the Baccalieu Trail on the scenic Avalon Peninsula. Although we are away from the noise and bustle of the town or city, we are just 45 mins from the capital city of St. John's, and 5 minutes from the historic Conception Bay North towns of Cupids, Brigus, Bay Roberts [5km], and 20 minutes from Harbour Grace and Carbonear.

You can expect a clean park with friendly, courteous management.

Enjoy peace, tranquillity and relaxation in our beautiful wooded surroundings, which are quiet and natural. Come, relax and breathe the fresh air!

Our facilities include:

66 sites, most of which are fully serviced with 3-way hook up.
Each site has a picnic table (fire pits and BBQ's for rent)
Daily, weekly, and seasonal camping rates.
8 1-bedroom cottages with crafted hardwood interiors, of which four are executive cabins, each of which has a 2-person Jacuzzi.
3 larger 2-bedroom cottages, newly opened in 2010.
Cottages are fitted with all modern conveniences.
Daily cottage rates.
The park has wireless internet and cable TV services, as well as public washrooms with showers, a laundromat, and a sani-station.
There is a canteen which carries confectionary items, beer, and ice.
Children's playground equipment conforms to CSA standards. We are hoping to have children's activities at the playgrounds in the summer of 2012.
Historic and scenic towns of Cupids, Makinsons and Brigus are within hiking distance.

Northern Avalon Region

We are located in the Northern Avalon Region, about 45 minutes from St. John's the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. This area of the province is the part of North America first settled by English colonists in the early 1600s. Many of the regional towns, towns which are located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, boast histories of almost 400 years. In addition, it is an area with strong cultural traditions and extraordinary scenery.

We are within hiking distance of Makinson, Brigus, and Cupids, and a short drive from South River, Clarke's Beach, North River, Port de Grave, Bay Roberts, Spaniard's Bay, Harbour Grace and Carbonear.

Individual Cottage Description

We have 8 1-bedroom cottages with crafted hardwood interiors. We also have 3 2-bedroom cottages which opened in 2010.

Cottages are fitted with all modern conveniences. Dishes, utensils, bedding and towels are supplied, just bring food, beverages and your personal items. In the interest of health and to keep the cottages fresh and clean at all times, smoking is not permitted.

The park has wireless internet and cable TV, as well as public washrooms with showers, a laundromat, and a sani-station. There is an office / canteen which carries confectionary items, beer, and ice. Children's playground equipment meets CSA standards, and we are planning on site daily activities for children.
