Property Description
Welcome to Twin Wheels Farm snuggled in the Madawaska Highlands where you will be staying in your own private hand-hewn log cabin surrounded by our horse farm.
We hope you enjoy taking a look at our website as well and we look forward to greeting you in person when you visit Twin Wheels Farm.
The Area
Our area is rich with attractions and activities.
BONNECHERE CAVES
Just 30 minutes away, tours are available through ten thousand year old caves which were first discovered in 1953.
WHITEWATER COUNTRY
The choice is yours! Whether you choose to book a day trip at one of the rafting companies or elect to be a spectator watching the rafts shoot the rapids, we will provide contact numbers for these trips.
GOLF
Three golf courses are within 10 - 20 minutes and there is also a driving range and miniput located at the Golden Sands Resort in Deacon (20 min). After a couple of hours on the range you might want to go across the road for lunch or dinner on the beautiful shores of Golden Lake.
DOWNHILL SKIING
We are located between Radcliffe Hills and Dacre Heights. Both hills offer large vertical drops and numerous runs.
ALGONQUIN PARK
This provincial park is world famous for its wildlife, lakes and rivers, fishing, canoeing and kayaking and nature trails. Start your visit at the Algonquin Visitor Centre and the Logging Museum.
ARTS & CRAFTS
The Madawaska Valley is rich with artisans. For the summer season, many open their studios to visitors to view their works. Others display their handiwork at local galleries.
Examples of their work include hand blown glass, paintings, sculpture, wood carving, weaving, pottery, soaps and much more.
There is also a very popular studio tour that takes place in late September of each year.
Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities
There are many things to see and do right on our own property.
FOR THE CHILDREN
What would a farm be without animals?
For the children there are always rabbits and puppies to play with, a donkey and a mule to hug, ponies to ride and pet, eggs to gather and kittens to search for.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Horseback Riding
Riding is available by the hour or half-day trip ($25 for the first hour and $20 for the rest) and is exclusive to overnight guests at Twin Wheels Farm. The ride along our quiet forest trails will take you past several lakes, streams and beaver ponds. (A waiver must be signed for this activity.) We would ask that guests bring their own riding helmets when possible.
Canoeing
Canoeing is available on a private lake on our farm with canoes, paddles and some life jackets provided. If you have your own life jackets we suggest you bring them as not all sizes are available. For those who wish to bring their own gear, we are close to the Madawaska and Bonnechere Rivers, Algonquin Park's Barren River Canyon and various other waterways.
Biking & Hiking
If you are a biking or hiking enthusiast, you can try miles of challenging bush trails or choose endless, quiet scenic roads. You can either take the bush trails located on the property or plan a day trip into Algonquin Park or the Barren River Canyon.
Swimming
Enjoy a cool dip in our private lake and relax on our quiet beach. It's just a 10 minute walk from the cabin down a forest trail. Take a lunch or book and spend the day.

Top of the Mountain ATV Tours is the ultimate adventure, full of challenges, thrills, and adrenaline pumping action! In the year-round 4 hour tour you'll explore the hills, ravines, marshes, rocky creek beds, streams, beaver ponds of the Madawaska Highlands. A 1 hour tour is also offered during July and August.
