Property Description

A family fishing, housekeeping cottage resort with recreational facilities. RV camping, tent camps sites on the Spanish River - Spanish Ontario, North Channel, Northern Lake Huron, North of Manitoulin Island.

Rental housekeeping (self catering ) cottages for families and groups with the accent on fishing for walleye, pike, bass and muskie. RV camping with RV Campsites equipped with utilities. Tent camping on excellent campsites near the water. The 2008 fishing season offered excellent fishing. Walleye fishing was very good in July and August. In our area of the Spanish River the limit, for those with a Sport Fishing License, is 4 but only one can be greater than 18 inches. Northern pike were also hitting well,a camp record of 45 inches was caught and releaced, and several muskie were caught and released.

We are the only resort on the lower Spanish River, which offers some of the best fishing in Ontario. We have a quiet, secluded setting even though we are just one mile off of highway 17.

Fishing at Blue Heron Resort is a favorite activity, but it is also a great place for bird watchers, nature lovers, photographers, and people who just want to get away to relax.

The resort has a children's playground, TV lounge, horseshoe pits, swimming deck, and a badminton volleyball area.

Fishing the Spanish River or the North Channel of Lake Huron offers anglers a wide variety of fishing action and beautiful scenery. Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Perch tend to be the most sought after, but there are also Muskie, Crappie, pan fish, Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Salmon, and more.

Individual Cottage Description

Our one, two, and three bedroom cottages offer you a beautiful view and provide you with the finest in housekeeping accommodation.

Each cottage has a full bathroom with a shower, bath tub, sink, and toilet. They are all insulated and have electric heating.

Modern appliances (refrigerator, range, toaster, coffee maker), cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, linens, and bedding are all supplied. Clock radios are provided to enable you to tune in to the local weather forecast or view the weather channel via satellite in the TV lounge. Every cottage has a TV/VCR for watching movies from our movie library.

Fishing Licences, Bait, Gas, and Ice are all available at the resort. You only need to bring your own towels. Sorry, not pets allowed.

Boat And Motor Rental Rates
- Boat and Motor Rental is $400.00 CAN. per week/ $75.00 CAN per day.Al boats have flat floors and swivel seats.
- Up Grade with fish finder and trolling motor is $90.00 per week/ $15.00 per day.
- Pontoon/40hp/fish finder $750.00 per week/ $150.00 per day.
- There is no charge for parking or ramping. Docking is $50.00 per week or $10.00 per day.
