A ten acre Cortes Island waterfront accommodation with a south-east exposure this vacation rental has stunning views of Desolation Sound and the Coast Range mountains to the east, as well as the Vancouver Island mountains to the west. The approach to this waterfront accommodation is through a large field where does and their young fawns are frequently seen and through a lovely flower garden on the way down to the Boathouse at the waters edge.

Our vacation rental is not far from Hollyhock, Cortes Island’s leading retreat centre - a five minute drive, a fifteen minute walk along the beach or by trails.

Flowers, herbs and salad makings (raspberries & strawberries as well in season) are there for guests’ enjoyment. At low tide there is a long white sandy beach for swimming, sunbathing and for kids to play. Find sand dollars and starfish, dig clams, gather oysters, or go fishing! This is truly a spectacular spot for a family with children or people that love the beach! Sunrise, moonrise – Our waterfront accommodation has spectacular views and many couples enjoy this romantic getaway. This accommodation is private and quiet yet proximate to amenities and Hague Lake for fresh water swimming.

Our vacation rental is called the Boathouse as it was originally intended to store boats and be temporary living space while the ‘real’ house was built up by the garden. Falling in love with the ever changing view, sunrise, moonrise, eagles and otters, ducks of all kinds and cheering oyster catchers . . . the boathouse became the charming waterfront home by the sea.

Additional Bedroom Information

Master bedroom with queen sized bed; wake up to views of the water. Twin mattress underneath may be pulled out for young ones to sleep close by. There is a sitting area for reading or, watching TV or your favourite DVD. There is a second bedroom with queen bed, as well as a twin bed in the sitting room.

In the Kitchen...
Enjoy cooking with panoramic views of the ocean and mountains; watch herons, eagles, Mergansers, Harlequins, and Loons as well as the occasional seal or otter, and, whales!

Large Kitchen with plenty of counter space for several people to cook together. Fully equipped with all the tools for cooking up your favourite meal and, those clams and oysters you have dug/picked yourself on the beach at low tide.

Minimum Stay: 3 nights October thru May at $150/night. (2 nights: $175 per night)
Plus $250 refundable damage deposit
