Listing Description

We invite you to make Harbourne by the Lake your vacation destination. Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, or in a group up to seven people you are welcome in our century home on the main street of historic Lakefield, 15 minutes North of Peterborough.

Your stay can be as relaxing or as active as you choose. Our six acre setting on Lake Katchewanooka is yours to enjoy, the gardens, woods and sandy beach. A tour of the lake can be yours on our pontoon boat to visit the sunken beach.

Within walking distance from downtown Lakefield you can enjoy the quaint shops, pubs, bistros and day spa. For the more active we are just minutes from the Lakefield Trail which is a safe venue for walking and cycling along the scenic Trent Severn Waterway.

Whether sunning, swimming, fishing or boating, enjoy the lake from our door.

Harbourne is the home of a number of educational and recreational gatherings that feature special sessions of hands-on crafts such as spinning and weaving, rug hooking, building a twig trellis and fly tying. Create your own Tour for Two or bring your craft supplies and make yourself at home.

We can provide a variety of services including therapeutic massage, yoga instruction, custom guided tours to artisans, galleries, the Petroglyphs and more, in your car. We are looking forward to helping you plan your getaway.

The Service

We provide full breakfasts in our dining room and invite special requests if made in advance. On beautiful summer mornings take your coffee out to the deck and let the birds welcome you to the day. For dinner you can choose from a range of restaurants in Lakefield or on the lakes in the surrounding area. Peterborough is about a 10 minute drive and offers a full range of dining possibilities.

Individual Unit Description

We have 3 newly renovated bedrooms (one ensuite) in a wing of our home offering privacy and repose after travelling or exploring the area.

Enjoy your own company or seek others...it's up to you.

The newest addition to our B&B is an antique shop, housed in two renovated post and beam buildings. The shop specializes in antique furniture, both restored and in original finish.You will find china, glassware, silver, and lighting. Wendy has a special interest in textiles, whether upholstered pieces, hooked rugs, linens, or quilts.Don't forget the eclectic display of art.

Our rooms range in price from $90 (for a room with a double bed and a 2 piece ensuite bathroom) to $130 (for a large room with a sitting area and a queen-size bed).
