Laughing Water Lodge resort is one of the few Lake of the Woods fishing resorts that has been in the business of providing vacation packages for the avid angler since the early 1940's. We can't categorize our lodge solely as a destination for bass fishing, trout fishing , walleye fishing or muskie fishing as all of these species are available within minutes of our docks. In addition to boat rentals, canoes and kayaks are available for those wishing to enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake at a relaxed pace. Many of our guests combine, with their fishing vacation, a few holes of golf at the locally famous White Moose Golf Course.

Laughing Water Lodge is a Canadian housekeeping, fishing and family vacation resort located north of the town of Sioux Narrows on Long Bay of Lake of the Woods in the province of Ontario.

Our eight cottages are nestled among stately pine and spruce trees along the shore of Long Point Island, one of the 14,000 islands of Lake of the Woods.

We do our best to enhance your vacation with personal and friendly service designed to help you enjoy a relaxing holiday surrounded by the pristine natural beauty of Lake of the Woods.

Vacations

FISHING
The thousands of islands and bays of Lake of the Wood within minutes of the lodge provide endless opportunities for the fisherman. Sportfish waiting to grab your bait include Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout and Crappie. Licences, boat and motor rentals, docking facilities and gasoline are available at the lodge. Bait and tackle can be found 15 minutes away in the town of Sioux Narrows.

GOLF
Enjoy some golf at a relaxed pace at White Moose Golf Course. This nine hole par 35 course is located 10 minutes from the Lodge and affords beautiful views of Lake of the Woods. Club and cart rentals are available. Ask about our golf vacation packages.

WATERSPORTS
Our sand beach and the clean clear waters of Long Bay provide plenty of opportunity for the watersports enthusiast. Our guests enjoy swimming, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding,canoeing and kayaking. Long Bay warms to a comfortable temperature of 23 degrees Celsius by mid summer.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

The lake is world renowned for walleye, northern pike, bass, musky and trout fishing. Our sand beach is popular with vacationing families and those who wish to cool off after a long day of fishing.

A two kilometre paved road winds through a pine forest to provide access to the lodge from Highway 71, a major route connecting the highways of the U.S. state of Minnesota to the Trans-Canada highway.

Restaurants, bait and tackle, a nine hole golf course, gift shops and groceries can be found six kilometres to the south in the town of Sioux Narrows.

Individual Cottage Description

All of our cottages have fully equipped kitchens including cooking utensils, dishes, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and electric stove and refrigerator. Linens for the bedrooms, kitchens and for the three or four piece bathrooms are provided. Charcoal barbecues and picnic tables are available outside each cottage.

Two Bedroom Cottages: Maximum occupancy is 6 people.
HERON - Our largest log cottage with screened porch. $1220

House Rules

All rates are per cottage per week. Cottage rates are based on 2 adults; each additional adult is $100/week. No additional charge for children 17 and under. Nightly rates, when applicable are 20% of the weekly rate. Two vehicles maximum per cottage

Spring / Fall Discounts - 20% rate reduction before June 4 and after August 20, 2011.

Pets: - must be attended at all times $20/day $100/week
