Perched on the top of a hill overlooking one of the most popular lake systems on the Rideau Lakes, this cottage has a great view, comfortable accommodations and privacy. The 6 connected lakes on this level of the Rideau Canal, offer great Bass, Pike, Perch, Crappy, and Trout fishing. Other draws to this area are the privacy, wildlife, boating, canoe and kayaking, in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Rideau Canal is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was rated #2 as an exceptional historic site destination by National Geographic.

This cottage is conveniently located not far off of highway #15 at the halfway point between Toronto and Montreal, 40 minutes from the Canada/USA border, and only one hour and 25 minutes from Ottawa. A great place for extended Families to congregate.

Local Information

Great places to hike and bike at that are close by are the trail to Rock Dunder where the view is fantastic, and the Cataraqui Trail, a 104 km recreational path that winds it's way through this scenic area following the former Canadian National railway line. It is a four season trail for hikers, cyclists, equestrians, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers as main users.

The Rideau Lakes area sports one of the most sought-after areas in the world for boating, fishing, camping, swimming, and relaxing! Fishermen come to enjoy the legendary bass fishing, as well as fishing for Northern Pike, Trout, Perch, and pan fish. Fishing guides are available locally for those who want to be shown the ropes. Ice fishing is also popular. It’s clean and clear lakes are connected by an historic lock system which provides a perfect area for boating enthusiasts who love natural beauty. The Cataraqui trail system that winds through the cottage country is a great trail for scenic trips through the wooded landscape on feet or bicycles and in the winter, skis and snowmobiles. The historic old towns and lock stations provide entertainment and great shopping. Come and see for yourself why so many people come year after year.

You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping restaurants, parties, and lots more!

Beds: 2 bedrooms with queen beds, and one bedroom with a double bed.
Linen service is included for bedding. Renters must bring their own towels, or they can be rented for $12/person (this includes three face-cloths, three hand towels, three bath towels, and one bath mat).

House Rules

Bookings for this property are subject to the owners approval.
Reservation is secured with a 30% deposit paid via personal cheque (if time permits) direct deposit, or email money transfer, completed renter's contract (forwarded with booking information), and post-dated cheques for the balance of rent and security deposit.
Security deposit cheque will be held in trust and not cashed unless needed to due to damages or cleaning expenses incurred.
If no damages or cleaning fees are to be with-held, the Security Deposit cheque will be mailed back, marked void within one month of check-out.
Rent consists of the rent amount with taxes included, plus a cleaing fee of $88.50+HST.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation made by the Renter shall be in writing and addressed to Rideau Lakes Property Management at the address stated at the top of the booking application form. Cancellation can also be emailed and will be considered accepted once a confirmation reply is received. On receipt of such notice of cancellation, we shall endeavour to re-book the holiday accommodation for the period of the original booking.
If we are successful in rebooking the holiday accommodation for the entire period originally booked, we will refund to the Renter all monies paid (whether deposit or full payment has been made) less an administration fee of $100.00 per period booked.
If we are unable to re-book your holiday accommodation, then all monies paid by the Renter (whether deposit or full payment has been made) shall be forfeited.
If we are unable to arrange the rental of the Property, due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disaster, we will attempt to arrange alternative holiday accommodation of a similar type and cost and standard and in a similar location as that originally requested by the Renter. If the alternative holiday accommodation and/or rate is not acceptable to the Renter, we shall refund in full to the Renter all monies paid by him/her to Rideau Lakes Property Management. Requests by the Renter to switch to different cottages other than the ones that have already been booked by renter, will be provided only if the original booking property/time can be re-booked, and it will result in an additional administrative charge of $50.00.
