The Area

The cottage is situated on the biggest lake in Eastern Ontario. It is part of the Big Rideau Corridor (a.k.a. Rideau Canal Waterway), which runs all the way from Ottawa to Kingston.

By boat you can navigate the corridor all the way from Ottawa, make a pit stop at the cottage and continue your journey to Kingston, which then leads into Lake Ontario. Along the way you will pass about 45 locks, and cover a distance of about 202km (125.6 miles). At some of its deepest points, the lake is as deep as 100 meters (329 feet).

There are also some great town that are no more than a 20 minute drive away. Enriched by centuries of history, they have their unique country charms, lake- side restaurants, golf courses and distinctive entertainment. From shopping, to great food, to guided tours to watercraft rentals, they have it all..

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Outdoor BBQ & a campfire-pit also available for those starry nights by a warm fire. Situated on a quiet clean bay with a warm southern exposure on Big Rideau Lake near Portland, Ontario, the property provides an excellent family vacation spot for all four seasons. In winter, cross country skiing, skating on the lake, or relaxing in a luxury setting.

In the summer the water is perfect for water skiing, wakeboarding, boating, tubing, swimming and fishing. Bike, jog or walk on the quite country roads and look for deer and other birds and wildlife. Tiered cedar decks and a two-finger 55’ cedar dock make for excellent lake access and boat docking or just for soaking up the sun. Free use of canoe and paddleboat.

Warm, comfortable, and cozy, all the bedrooms offer a great view, either of the lake or the woods. The cottage has a total of 5 beds and 2 sofa beds, from twins to a queen size, providing comfortable accommodation for up to 10. There are four bathrooms; 2 four piece, 1 three piece and 1 two piece.

This is a private family cottage and should be treated with the same respect as if you were looking after a friend's or relative’s house. Please leave our country home in the same condition as you found it, that is leave it neat, clean, orderly, including removal of your garbage & recycling. This document, once accepted by both parties, forms a legal contract. Please read and understand it before signing your acceptance.
