This restored 1900 circa waterfront estate offers 5000 sq. feet of character & charm. The entire house is furnished with antiques, except for modern day conveniences, of course! The decor creates an atmosphere that is warm, inviting and most important of all - relaxing!

Sleeps 19 in a total of 8 bedrooms, plus lounging sofas on porches just to be lazy.

If you enjoy cooking, the large gourmet kitchen features a total of 3 ovens, 2 sinks, stainless steel prep areas and all the gadgets in between. After you've prepared your feast or you can cheat as we provide in-house catering, enjoy memorable meals at the dinning room table that seats 16. No need to worry about the little things like coffee, tea, spices, condiments, etc...They're all here for you to use.

The 3+ bathrooms have been restored but the original claw foot tubs remain along with the original pedestal sinks. Fresh towels & nice soaps are provided for a nice soak in the tub.

Cozy up to the fireplace in the main living room or sit next to the woodstove in the TV room and watch your favorite shows, DVDs or play video games. If none of this relaxes you, the outdoor hot tub will definitely do the trick!

Watch the sun set with a nice bottle of wine from one of the 3 porches or head down to the fire pit to do some serious marshmallow roasting.

Come to the place where Mae West, Roy Rogers & The Eaton family spent their summer vactions,

where the Timmins Family influenced mining in Canada and around the world and where the Maple

Leafs hung out when not on the ice. Yes, the Leafs spent lots of time in this very house.

Oh, and we can't forget Senator Donat Raymond: while he owned the Estae, he was

also owner of the Montreal Canadians. If only the walls could talk!

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Located on the Eastern shore of Lake Champlain (part of the Mattawa River), you will see sunsets that are breathtaking. Pristine water makes for great swimming & fishing.

We have a canoe, kayak and kayakee for you to enjoy. Dock is approx 40 ft long so there's room to park your toys as well. Boats can be launched right from the property. Our 2+ acres are level making lake access very easy.

Property is private and Lake Champlain is very quiet. Neighbours are friendly & helpful but everyone respects one another's privacy.

The picturesque town of Mattawa is 5 minutes away. Entry to Algonquin Park is 30 minutes away.

There's stuff to do in Mattawa: horseback riding, hiking/nature walks, tennis court, visit the art gallery, do a little shopping and more.

Additional Bedroom Information

There are 2 stairways in the house. One brings you to the South Wing, the other to the North Wing. Each wing has 4 bedrooms.

The South Wing bedrooms accommodate guests as follows:

#1 has a double bed plus a pull-out sofa
#2 has a double bed
#3 has a Queen size bed
#4 has a double

The attic above these bedrooms has been converted to a boardroom. It can accommodate 15+ persons very comfortably.

The North Wing bedrooms accommodate guests as follows:

#1 has a double bed
#2 has a double bed and a single bed
#3 has a 3/4 bed and a single
#4 has 2 twin beds

There is a porch in this wing that is cozy and great for card playing. The view from up above is spectacular! Just listening to the creek trickle will have you snoozing in no time!
