Founded in 1824 as a small rural hamlet in Lanark County 30 minutes from Ottawa, today Clayton continues to bustle with people. Our diverse community includes long-time local families with deep generational roots in the area, city-folks looking for a slower life in the country, and local artists enjoying a peaceful, inspirational place to work and live.
Despite our small size, there’s a lot happening in Clayton. In addition to churches, a modern Seniors Residence and the amazing Clayton General Store, the Community Hall is home to many events including a regular “Ham and Jam” first Sunday of every month from Oct through to June. The baseball field is active as well, with a thriving community spirit… and more. Come and taste a little slice of country!
